Description & Details: The Staff Pharmacist is entrusted with accurately and efficiently performing dispensing and clinical pharmacy services. They oversee support personnel and are responsible for ensuring patient safety and satisfaction. The Staff Pharmacist also serves as a supervisor in the absence of the Pharmacist in Charge.
Provide accurate and efficient medication dispensing, immunization and injectable administration and clinical pharmacy services. Oversee support personnel when performing or assisting with these duties. - Maintain licensure in good standing with the North Dakota State Board of Pharmacy, including required continuing education and professional liability insurance.
- Comply with all North Dakota Board of Pharmacy regulations, HIPAA requirements, and Family HealthCare pharmacy policies and procedures. Responsible for opening and closing the pharmacy as scheduled.
- Ensure safe, accurate, and efficient prescription dispensing, including prescription verification, drug utilization review, medication counseling, and documentation.
- Obtain and review patient information, assess medication therapy, monitor adherence, and respond to patient medication-related questions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, prescribers, medical providers, and clinic staff to optimize medication therapy and resolve prescription issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment.
- Participate in inventory management, ordering, recalls, expiration monitoring, and third-party reimbursement processes.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy and healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care and customer service.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and improvement of clinical pharmacy services and protocols.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services, including but not limited to medication reconciliation, medication synchronization, medication therapy management, disease state management, formulary review, preventive care initiatives, collaborative practice activities, and medication information services.
- Supervise, train, and support pharmacy technicians, customer service representatives, interns, and other support personnel to ensure compliance with established workflows, policies, and quality standards.

Assist patients in finding effective, affordable medication therapy based on patient's payer program. - Ensure accurate third-party billing by following established workflows and PAAS National guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with the federal 340B Program and preserve program integrity.
- Assist patients in accessing affordable medications through Family HealthCare programs, manufacturer assistance programs, coupons, and community resources.
- Support patients with formulary, preferred drug, and prior authorization issues by collaborating with medical providers.
- Ensure accurate use of drug files and inventory during the dispensing process.
- Identify patients who may benefit from payer-sponsored or other clinical pharmacy services
Provide pharmacy leadership, operational oversight, and administrative support. - Serve as the pharmacy supervisor in the absence of the Pharmacist-in-Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Make operational decisions to maintain continuity of pharmacy services and consult pharmacy leadership as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including auditing, regulatory compliance, policy and procedure development, and implementation of clinical pharmacy protocols.
- Facilitate staff meetings and provide education, training, and guidance to pharmacy personnel as needed
Participate in interdisciplinary patient care and pharmacy education. - Serve as a preceptor for IPPE and APPE pharmacy students by providing instruction, supervision, feedback, and evaluations in accordance with NDSU experiential education requirements.
- Train students on pharmacy workflows, clinical pharmacy services, pharmacy systems, and interdisciplinary patient care.
- Collaborate with Family HealthCare providers and staff as a medication and drug information resource to support safe, effective, and comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain current knowledge of medications, clinical guidelines, and drug information resources.
Work Schedule: Full-time, 12-month
Hiring Range: $105,000-$140,000
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications: - ND Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist
- Administration Authority
Preferred Qualifications: - Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) with current North Dakota License
- Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification
Core Competencies: • Ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and work in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
• Experience with quality assurance, immunization administration, clinical pharmacy services, and medication therapy management billing.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including interpreter/language services.
• Knowledge of the federal 340B program and EPIC EMR
