Description Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Noise Control Engineer to provide acoustics and noise control services to the power, industrial, commercial, oil & gas and manufacturing industries.

The Staff Noise Control Engineer will work within our Environmental Services Global Practice and perform the following duties:
- Develop environmental noise analyses for industrial, utility, and transportation clients, to satisfy federal, state, or local acoustic criteria. Environmental acoustic analyses include noise monitoring, modeling, and mitigation design.
- Develop architectural acoustic analyses for clients to achieve optimal acoustic performance for their spaces. Acoustic analyses include sound level measurements in existing spaces, acoustic modeling for spaces and finishes, acoustic analysis of HVAC equipment, and mitigation design.
- Travel to project sites to complete ambient and compliance sound surveys.
- FHWA Traffic Noise Model (TNM) development.
- Act as a 'Subject Matter Expert' for noise impact analysis.
- Assist with preparing air permit applications, air permitting analyses, site evaluations, and other environmental tasks independently with assistance/review by managers.
- Assist with air dispersion modeling using Environmental Protection Agency-approved modeling programs such as AERMOD.
- Assist in performing emission calculations and estimates, including greenhouse gas analyses for our clients.
- Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Environmental, Civil) with an emphasis on vibration and acoustics or other related field from an accredited program.
- This position requires a minimum of 3 years (5 years preferred) of applicable air quality or noise control experience.
- Prior consulting experience in acoustics and noise control is preferred.
- Courses in acoustics and noise control are a plus.
- Experience with the CadnaA acoustic modeling software is a plus.
- Must be able to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex requests.
- Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
