Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical aspect of optical transceiver for next generation products: 1.6T, 3.2T OSFP.
  • Must be fluent in Solidworks 3D and 2D drawings, tolerance analysis, thermal simulation using Flotherm is preferred.
  • Document design works, BOM, Agile release, PDME collaboration.
  • Collaborate with EE and Optical expert to integrate into the product.
  • Perform MCR, MDR to document design progress.
  • Occasional oversea travel to resolve DFM with vendors and factory.

Education & Experience
  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
  • Knowledge of a variety of (metal) manufacturing methods, e.g. machining, stamping, molding, welding, brazing, casting, plating, 3D printing, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication and rack and chassis designs
  • Strong analytical and computational skills in structural, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and tolerance studies for mechanical and thermal consideration.
  • Experience in semiconductor laser diodes, laser alignment, diode laser packaging, fiber optics, fiber coupled lasers, fiber lasers, and diode laser optics.
  • Able to multitask between several projects and designs and handle a lot of details.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet project deadlines.

Working Conditions

  • May require occasional off-site meetings or travel
