Job Description:

The Staff Facility Systems Engineer is the Resort's designated technical authority and strategic leader for Resort wide process automation, BMS, and data systems for the Central Energy Plants, Compressor Plants, and Water Treatment Plants. Approximately 35-50% of the role is focused on software design and development, with the remainder supporting hardware design, field execution, documentation, and project delivery. This role architects, directs, and oversees all documentation, programming, integration, and sustainment, sets technical vision and standards, and guides Resort wide process improvement, capital justification, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities/You Will
  • Architect, direct, and ensure Resort-wide compliance for all process automation/BMS system documentation-including drawings, schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, panel schedules-with responsibility for system accuracy and lifecycle management.
  • Oversee and standardize the development, configuration, and sustainment of software and interfaces for Resort-wide automation/BMS systems, including advanced DAS programming, GUIs, dashboards, alarming/alerts, notifications, and facility reporting/tooling (approximately 35-50% of the role).
  • Lead and approve the design and construction of all industrial control panels to UL508A standards, setting Resort benchmarks for quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Establish and enforce Resort-wide integration, process compliance, and technical standards for all automation/BMS platforms, GUIs, dashboards, alarming, and visualization/reporting.
  • Provide direction for system-wide technical training, documentation, complex commissioning, troubleshooting, and critical incident response.
  • Evaluate field conditions, develop project/capital improvement proposals and recommendations, conduct advanced technical assessments, and justify upgrades or process/system changes.
  • Mentor, develop, and build cross-functional controls engineering teams; promote best practices in diagnostics, documentation, and technical growth across the Resort.
  • Build high-level partnerships internally (engineering, asset management, IT, project management) and externally (vendors, code authorities).
  • Sustain Resort-wide compliance with NEC, Disney Specs and Standards, LEED, ISO 50001, and local codes.
  • Support lighting controls design and sustainment.
  • Exhibit mastery of hand tools, test instrumentation, troubleshooting, and controls assessment.


Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of technical leadership in process automation, BMS, documentation, software development, sustainment, and controls project delivery.
  • Extensive experience standardizing and leading design/build of UL508A panels.
  • Demonstrable capability in GUIs, dashboards, alarming, DAS integration, and Resort-wide system strategy.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, ISO 50001 strongly preferred.


Additional Information

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $141,900.00 to $173,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographical region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
