Staff Engineer.Salary: $100,000 - $125.000/yr DOE
Responsibilities- Responsibility for leadership testing for projects / developments designed to foster additional technical capabilities and services within a local laboratory and/or across the Element enterprise.
- Leads internal projects that ultimately influence future technologies and testing opportunities within his/her chosen engineering field/discipline.
- Brings clarity to and prioritizes technology programs and projects which cross multiple technological fields.
- Provides technical leadership as a key specialist on an Element-wide basis.
- Skilled at communicating intricate and complex technical concepts to non-technical people.
- Comfortable making presentations on technical topics to a variety of audiences. Active in sharing knowledge across a range of specialist and non-specialist communities, within the laboratory, across the Element enterprise and across a network of external technical peers.
- Actively seeks ways to disseminate critical testing knowledge, acumen and protocols throughout Element.
- Able to perform highly complex testing responsibilities competently and without supervision. Able to operate in a fully autonomous manner.
- Shows personal accountability and takes responsibility for his/her own work while leading the work of other technicians and engineers.
- Responsible for utilizing a wide range of critical resources. Is viewed as a key leader of initiatives that make a substantial impact on the broader Element enterprise and testing services provided.
- Committed to leading by example in all matters including ethical and professional issues and makes informed judgments on issues not addressed by current professional and/or ethical codes or practices
Skills / Qualifications- Possesses a depth of understanding and experience which integrates most, if not all, of the main areas of his/her chosen engineering field/discipline.
- Has an essential knowledge of the theories, principles and concepts of his/her engineering discipline.
- Possesses deeper specialist knowledge and skills in one or more area within their chosen discipline and contributes at the forefront of his/her field.
- Has a demonstrated ability to lead technology development within the context of Element's business. Is thoroughly knowledgeable of internal capabilities and understands external resources available.
- Will have a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience post-degree or higher academic qualifications.
