About the roleSeeking an Embedded Software Engineer to create requirements, design, implement, debug and validate code for Aptera's battery management system (BMS).
What you'll do- Implementation and validation of key features within the High Voltage BMS system
- Synthesize Requirements to design, code, document and debug BMS or other embedded software
- Analyze Schematics and HW component datasheets to write embedded SW drivers for them
- Bring up, test and validate new circuit board designs using standard HW test tools
- Participate in peer reviews of schematics, SW designs and code reviews
- Work hard, challenge industry conventions, and relentlessly strive to make truly exceptional products
Qualifications- Proficient in C programming, with an understanding of C++
- Experience in Bare-Metal Embedded Systems
- Comfortable with High Voltage distributed BMS systems
- Strong knowledge of functional safety
- High standards for code quality, maintainability and performance
- Experience in Linux development environments
- Experience in git repo management
- Experience in documenting, publishing and shipping production code
- Experience with HW test using power supplies, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
- Comfortable in fast paced and dynamic team environments

Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of major electric vehicle (EV) sub-systems and architecture
- Comfortable with Jira for bug tracking and traceability
- Familiarity with distributed vehicle control distributed systems via CAN bus and LIN bus
Team Structure - Individual contributor within the Embedded Software Team; collaborate with other teams and individuals, as necessary
Required Experience- 10+ years of pure software development with 3+ years of BMS experience including HV distributed systems
Educational Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, with practical software development experience
