The
LPN Staff Development Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering training to all employees in the Rehabilitation and Care Center. Performs nursing care in assigned areas in terms of individualized resident needs. Follows policies and procedures, and establishes standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the Director of Nursing Services.
What you'll do- Develop and deliver training to employees
- Training includes, but is not limited to CPR, First Aid, Orientation, Infection Control and In-services
- Administers immunizations and TBs for staff and residents
- Assess patients in hospitals and work with Health Center Admissions Coordinator on referrals and marketing
- Assess, evaluate and perform appropriate level of care to help treat a resident's wound
- Assist residents and family members with concern, empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner
- Assist Director of Nursing with policy and procedure development
- Act as a backup to the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing when they are out of the office
- Learn and apply Company, Federal, State, and local rules, regulations, and policies
What you'll need - Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License in Washington State
- CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
- Working knowledge of WA State nurse practice laws and state and federal regulations governing long term care
- Computer skills to include MS Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) • Prior experience working in a long term care facility
- Experience developing and delivering nursing training sessions
Salary Range: $34.80 to $55.92 per hour
