Staff Data Engineer, you'll design and optimize real-time data pipelines, enable AI-driven applications, and drive high-impact decisions at enterprise scale. This role offers end-to-end ownership and the opportunity to shape the future of data and commerce.
What you'll do: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support business analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and translate them into efficient data models and architectures.
- Extract, transform, and integrate data from internal and external sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Implement and optimize data storage solutions using cloud platforms and big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Kafka.
- Analyze complex data flows and system integrations to propose effective solutions and improvements.
- Develop, test, and deploy code to automate data processing and support data governance standards.
What you'll bring: - 7-10+ years of experience in data engineering, building and operating large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant data platforms.
- Deep expertise in cloud-native data ecosystems (GCP or Azure preferred), including services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, or equivalent, with experience shaping platform-level decisions.
- Proven track record of designing data architectures that scale across multiple teams and use cases, including batch, streaming, and hybrid systems.
- Strong understanding of agent-consumable data patterns, including semantic modeling, embeddings, knowledge graphs, and context enrichment strategies.
- Expert-level skills in data modeling and system design, with the ability to reason about how schema, latency, and storage choices impact retrieval quality and AI reasoning.
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with LLM-enabled systems, including prompt orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI).
- Advanced knowledge of data governance and trust frameworks, including quality, access control, lineage, and compliance-especially for AI auditability.
- Fluency in Python, Java, or Scala, with a strong engineering mindset around testability, maintainability, and performance; deep experience with Spark/PySpark.
- Expert SQL skills and experience optimizing analytical workloads across massive datasets.
- Strong systems thinking and technical leadership, with the ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across organizational boundaries.
- Experience with real-time and analytical tooling such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, Druid, Presto, and how they fit into modern data and AI architectures.

Bentonville, Arkansas US-10735: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
