This is a remote position. Candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area are preferred.POSITION SUMMARYThe General Ledger Staff Accountant will provide support for a variety of finance functions, including but not limited to general ledgers, monthly accounting close activities, treasury operations, and other finance and accounting projects.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in preparing journal entries and reconciliations for the areas of expense accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and leases.
- Support the review of monthly invoices for prepaids and fixed assets to help identify items affecting amortization and capitalization in accordance with company policy.
- Assist with month-end close binder, review journal entry approval hierarchies to ensure proper controls, and follow-up on issues and variances.
- Update and maintain assigned prepaids listing, fixed asset tracking files, and accrual checklists.
- Assist with monthly close management by completing assigned tasks related to planning, allocations, and consolidation.
- Assist in preparing intercompany settlements and documentation using established procedures.
- Maintain financial records and implement appropriate checks and balances on data.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements for internal/external reporting and financial statements tie-out.
- Provide support to the requests from external and internal auditors.
- Provide support for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Model Audit Rule 205 (MAR 205) documentation.
- Perform ad-hoc responsibilities, as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field (accounting, finance or economics) or equivalent work experience.
- One to three years of general ledger experience is preferred, but not required. Public company or public accounting experience is also preferred, but not required.
- Experience with enterprise/GL systems.
- Skill in written and verbal communication.
- Must possess attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Organized with ability to manage financial processes and the capacity to implement control procedures while driving continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver on tight deadlines.
Base Salary: $67,800 - $96,000
