Position Title: Staff Accountant
Salary Range: $85,000 / Year, DOE | Up to $90,000-$95,000 for Senior Staff Accountant-level experience
This Staff Accountant role goes well beyond posting entries and checking boxes. You'll own meaningful accounting work across fixed assets, accruals, inventory, reconciliations, and financial reporting while using advanced Excel and data analysis to uncover trends, investigate variances, and strengthen the accuracy of the company's financial operations. The ideal candidate is a technically strong accountant who understands GAAP, knows their way around complex Excel files and naturally digs into the numbers instead of simply reporting what they see.

- Calculate and post monthly accruals for insurance, property tax, franchise tax, and other expenses
- Support month-end and year-end close while preparing schedules and documentation for accurate financial reporting
- Perform inventory and cost accounting including costing analysis, cycle counts, WIP tracking, inventory turns and slow-moving inventory analysis
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements while researching and resolving discrepancies and variances
- Use financial data to identify trends, investigate inconsistencies, and provide meaningful analysis beyond transactional accounting
- Support external audits, accounting system maintenance, sales tax reporting, and ongoing process improvement initiatives
Requirements - Bachelor's degree with Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
- Several years of relevant accounting experience with the ability to independently manage core accounting responsibilities
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to identify financial trends, analyze variances and investigate discrepancies
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet reporting deadlines
- Working knowledge of the oil and gas or industrial services sector is a plus
Benefits - Hybrid schedule with two remote days per week outside of month-end close
- Medical insurance, Company-provided life insurance, short-term disability coverage, and laptop
- Company-paid standard dental coverage with affordable vision coverage available
- 401(k) with company match after eligibility requirements are met
- 2 weeks of PTO plus three personal or medical sick days
- 6 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays
If you're the accountant who sees a variance and immediately wants to know why, this is the opportunity to put that curiosity to work and build the next level of your career.
