Full Job Description
Position Summary: Has authority, through the Director, Supplier Quality & Investigations, over the administration and development of Technical Operation / Airworthiness investigations, providing written reports, detailed analysis, and input into the hazard identification of the Safety Management System (SMS).

Major Job Accountabilities:

Based on the experience level, they will be required to accomplish any or all of the following job duties. Findings will be recorded and conveyed for corrective action and follow-up as required.
  • Performs SRC Technical Operations investigations that involve deviation from policies and procedures or FAA inquire and reports findings to the Director, Supplier Quality & Investigations and Director, Quality Assurance & CASS.
  • Ensures Investigation/audit data is provided timely and accurately to ensure compliance with a SMS risk-driven audit plan that evaluates the technical operation risk management.
  • Ability to Develop data driven recommendations to the maintenance policies and procedures based on the conclusions from investigations.
  • Author investigation reports and complete follow-up actions.
  • Accomplishes special QA surveillance, as assigned, based on the findings generated from investigations.
  • Provides an investigative function over the Technical Operation Organization, which shall include the audit of maintenance records, manuals, training, qualification, operational tasks, safety procedures, ground support operations, equipment and housekeeping.
  • Assist in scheduling follow-up QA surveillance, as necessary, to ensure investigation recommendation actions have been implemented and are effective.
  • Issues investigation reports to the appropriate Company Department and/or to vendors, that identifies the noted deficiencies from investigations.
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Airworthiness Investigations and/or by the Director, Supplier Quality & Investigations.
  • Tracking to completion SRC in work activities to ensure follow-up actions are completed.
  • Perform audits in accordance with the QAAP/CASS programs.
  • May perform any of the above assigned tasks during the course of investigations and/or in support of QA and the CASS Program.
  • Collaborates with maintenance partners (e.g., Engineering, Line Maintenance, Major Maintenance, Quality Control, Maintenance Control, Training Department, Fleet Operations Group, and Maintenance.
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Airworthiness Investigations and/or Director, Supplier Quality & Investigations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum three (3) years previous Quality Assurance/ Quality Control experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years applicable secondary or higher education or acceptable experience.
  • Working knowledge of software applications for reporting, analysis, and data presentation.
  • Effective written, data analysis, critical thinking and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of CASS, SMS, CFRs, etc.
  • Documented audit / quality / Root-cause analysis training.
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills to include Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
  • Experience in wide body aircraft maintenance within a FAR 121 and/or 145 environment.
  • Previous leadership /management experience.
  • Relevant / applicable higher education.

Organizational Relationship
  • Reports to: Supervisor, Airworthiness Investigations.
  • Coordinates with: Technical Operations, Planning, Flight Operations, Quality Assurance,
  • Quality Control, Engineering, Director, Quality Assurance & CASS, Director, Supplier
  • Quality & Investigations, SRC (SMS, Ground, Tech & Flight) and Approved Contract
  • Maintenance Providers.

Pay Range

$75,500-$101,500 USD
