Full Job Description
Key job responsibilities Within Amazon, IT exists to accelerate development and enable scaled manufacturing. You will be working to establish a departmental IT team from the ground up, acquiring and managing commercial-off-the-shelf CAD/simulation/product software necessary for organizational growth. - Architect, build, and administer commercial-off-the-shelf software applications consistent with Amazon's standards and industry best practices. - Partner with product managers, manufacturing engineering, and software build teams to understand customer needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and prioritize work that delivers the highest business impact. - Architect and deliver automation, including AI-driven self-healing and predictive maintenance capabilities, to reduce operational toil and improve consistency at scale across managed systems. - Apply security-first design principles, establishing and maintaining identity management (AAA) using Amazon standard tooling (Federate, idPrism, Authguard) and ensuring all systems adhere to security policies and least-privilege principles. - Implement observability and application integrations using AWS tooling to support growing operational demands at scale. - Ensure high availability, resiliency, and business continuity for managed applications. Proactively identify recurring issues and drive resolution metrics to systematically improve system reliability. - Assist with technical aspects of software vendor relationships and contract negotiations. - Participate in a team oncall rotation. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust - Experience with Linux/Unix - Experience building tools for building, testing, releasing or monitoring - Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes - Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in communicating with executives to describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
