Qualifications

• Two years recent scrubbing clinical experience in an acute care operating room
• Experience in at least three service lines (e.g., General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiac)
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least two surgical specialties
• Active AHA CPR Certification for healthcare providers
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
• Graduate of a surgical technologist training program or equivalent
• Flexibility to work across various UCSF Health locations

Responsibilities

• Select and set up instruments and equipment for surgical procedures
• Collaborate effectively as part of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon, maintaining a sterile field
• Ensure a sterile surgical environment throughout procedures
• Orient and demonstrate flexibility across all UCSF Medical Center locations
• Adhere to behavioral standards and promote service excellence by following UCSF’s PRIDE standards
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in working areas, adhering to safety and infection control policies
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competency in interactions with patients and colleagues
• Accountable for improving quality metrics and meeting departmental targets
