Job DescriptionJob Summary: As a Warehouse or Transportation Facility Leader, you'll manage day-to-day operations for a single facility or function. You'll support development, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures, and ensure Partners are trained and comply with established practices.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Leadership / Management:
- Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions (e.g., product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or resolving Partner-related matters)
- Provides direction for facility in compliance with Division's overall strategy; collaborates with cross-functional teams to establish future direction and vision
- Provides Ops Leaders technical training, coaching, and developmental opportunities
- Works enterprise wide to ensure key performance indicators are business-appropriate; notifies facility leaders of long-term operational goals; gains commitment
- Establishes / communicates Partner Relations expectations and accountabilities to leadership team; communicates a clear understanding of pro-Partner strategies
- Assembles a strong and diverse leadership team that achieves objectives; defines hiring criteria; authorizes staffing requisitions
- Executes / sustains complex change management initiatives that align with business priorities; creates / executes cross-functional communications plan to share tactical and strategic plans and initiatives with Partners
- Periodically reviews performance expectations to ensure alignment with goals
- Creates forecasting models to ensure customer service requirements are met; leads a team that consistently meets customer needs and expectations
- Maximizes use of H-E-B assets and resources to achieve facility financial goals
- Creates / monitors Facility safety expectations; creates an atmosphere that fosters Facility compliance with policies, procedures, guidelines, and governance
- Establishes / executes a program to identify / address / resolve sanitation, safety issues
- Maintains / implements all HACCP protocol
- Prepares related reports; audits current procedures to monitor efficiency of operations

Qualifications & Key Requirements:
Work Experience:
- 5+ years Experience in the industry - Required
- 4+ years Experience in management - Required
- Extensive experience in distribution and logistics operations - Required
- Experience successfully implementing process improvement initiatives - Required
- Experience presenting to senior leadership and lower-level audiences - Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of compliance standards in the industry, OSHA, EEOC, and employment laws, and of financial reports in assigned functional area - Required

- Negotiating and influencing skills - Required
- PC skills, including internal and external systems and programs required by the job (e.g., creating spreadsheets, graphs, charts, presentations) - Required

Education:
- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience - Required
Licenses/Certifications:
- Successful completion of assigned leadership and development classes - Required
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Function in a fast-paced distribution center and office environment
- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
- Work flexible and/or rotating schedules, including overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Work in multiple temperature zones
