Role SummaryIn this position, you will be executing hardware and software test and validation plans to ensure the performance, durability, and reliability of electric motor & lube systems. This role entails designing test setups, conducting tests, detailed data analysis & report generation. You will be part of the Electric Power Conversion group located at the Carson, California, facility.
Responsibilities- Lead development and maintenance of Software tools focused on Traction motor test systems, data acquisition methods, test automation scripts & automated data analysis
- Lead test & data acquisition Hardware setups for electric motor systems, electric drive units, motor lubrication & thermal systems
- Lead design validation plans, end-to-end validation activity, and guide test operators to execute testing and report generation
- Design & develop NI or equivalent HW test control cabinets, including electrical panels, wiring diagrams, low-voltage harnesses & interfaces
- Ensure test systems are controlled in a safe and consistent manner. Create summary reports for all conducted tests and events and provide data analytics from the collected data
- Responsible for building new lab setups, selecting test equipment, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering with 10+ years of Electrical Motors or Electrical HW testing & development experience required
- Expertise in NI LabVIEW programming & thorough knowledge of CAN communication/debugging
- Experience in NI Veristand configuration, development & maintenance of new & existing HIL systems
- Experience with Test control, Data acquisition systems, building test control cabinets & calibrating instrumentation
- Experience in Vector CANalyzer/canoe scripting in CAPL
- Expertise in instrumentation such as thermocouples, torque sensors, strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure gauges, flow meters
- Experience in data analysis and scripting for automated data analysis & visualization tools such as NI
diadem, Python & Matlab is preferred - Strong problem-solving skills & Experience with Electrical, Mechanical Hardware trouble shooting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
Pay DisclosureThe salary range for this role is USD 176,200-220,300 for Southern California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
