What you'll do

Scout Motors is seeking a highly analytical and strategic professional to help build the future of Vehicle Lifecycle Management within the Remarketing organization.

The Senior Specialist - Vehicle Lifecycle Strategy & Performance will be responsible for developing the analytics, systems, reporting, automation, and business processes that optimize vehicle value throughout its lifecycle. This role will support vehicle disposition strategy across fleet operations, buybacks, service loaners, employee vehicles, Certified Pre-Owned (CPO), retail pre-owned, and wholesale remarketing channels.

The ideal candidate combines automotive operations expertise, strong analytical capabilities, systems thinking, and a passion for leveraging technology and AI to improve decision-making and operational performance.

Remarketing Strategy & Performance Responsibilities
  • Monitor inventory health, aging, recovery rates, and channel performance.
  • Develop recommendations that improve inventory velocity, operational efficiency, customer experience, and financial outcomes.
  • Support residual value management initiatives and vehicle disposition strategies.
  • Analyze performance across retail, wholesale, fleet, and future CPO operations.
  • Establish performance metrics and measurement frameworks for key initiatives.

Analytics & Business Intelligence Responsibilities
  • Develop reporting and analytics that provide visibility into inventory performance, vehicle aging, turn times, utilization, residual value trends, and disposition outcomes.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to support strategic business decisions.
  • Support forecasting models and scenario planning for future vehicle volumes and disposition channels.
  • Translate data into actionable recommendations for leadership.
  • Build executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and operational reporting solutions.

Systems, Automation & AI Responsibilities
  • Serve as a business owner for key Remarketing systems and technology platforms.
  • Partner with Product and IT teams on system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements.
  • Develop scalable workflows, operating procedures, and automation solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and AI applications that improve productivity and decision-making.
  • Build proof-of-concepts and pilot programs to test new capabilities.

Cross-Functional Leadership Responsibilities
  • Partner with Sales, Service, Fleet Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Product, and Technology teams.
  • Present insights and recommendations through executive-ready business reviews.
  • Drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Support the future development of Scout's Vehicle Lifecycle Management capabilities.

Location & Travel Expectations:
  • This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC or Fremont, California.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive operations, fleet management, supply chain, analytics, strategy, program management, or related disciplines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business process improvement skills.
  • Experience building dashboards, reporting, KPI frameworks, and executive-level business reviews.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Automotive OEM, fleet management, logistics, fulfillment, inventory management, remarketing, or vehicle lifecycle management experience.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.
  • Experience with business systems, automation, workflow optimization, or AI-enabled solutions.
  • Experience supporting operational transformation, inventory optimization, or vehicle lifecycle strategy initiatives.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $130,000.00 - $160,000.00

Initial California base salary range = $143,000 - $176,000
