The Opportunity:As the Senior Specialist, International Recruitment, you will lead Immigration and Global Talent Programs at Maple Leaf Foods. You will have responsibility to oversee our LMIA applications, PNP nominations, and ongoing Foreign Worker compliance.
Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition and working within our International Recruitment Office (IRO) function, you'll work closely with our HR teams as the subject matter expert on Foreign Worker programs and processes across Canada and the United States.In this role, you'll manage all related documentation, reporting, and processes, and provide support in mobilization, ongoing employment eligibility, and offboarding of Foreign Workers. Your expertise will help us monitor and support compliance with immigration requirements, ensuring we stay on top of all necessary regulations.

Compensation:$71,000 - $103,000 CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive
The above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours.In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf's annual short-term incentive plan.
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:Immigration Advisory:Advise HR teams on best practices, revisions, and recommendations related to the utilization of federal and provincial immigration programs. At the employee level, identify learning opportunities to support foreign nationals within the facility's community.
Recruitment Facilitation:You'll support the recruitment processes for employing foreign workers at our facilities across Canada. You will partner with international recruitment partners, and act as the liaison between external partners and local HR teams.
Documentation Management:You will be responsible for managing and organizing all immigration-related documentation, including the storage of records, reporting, and tracking of international recruitment processes. This includes handling documentation from agencies and foreign workers.
Compliance Monitoring:Ensure compliance with federal and provincial immigration regulatory requirements, and consistently validate that all internal controls are being fulfilled. You will also provide internal and external audit support within Maple Leaf Foods.
What You'll Bring:- Formal Designation: You are a Licensed Canadian Immigration Consultant, with extensive experience supporting employment-based immigration.
- Foreign Worker Expertise: Proven success in partnering and advising HR teams regarding the employment of international workers in Canada. Preference for experience leading employment-based immigration support for front line workers (for example, General Laborers, Industrial Meat Cutters, and Maintenance Teams) on the company side.
- Experience with Federal and Provincial Programs: Experience working with Federal and Provincial programs. Ideally, you are familiar with the intricacies of provincial immigration programs within Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, reporting, and processes efficiently.
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with external partners and internal HR teams to provide a seamless experience through the entire employee lifecycle.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with various international stakeholders.
- Innovation: You stay current on immigration trends and best practices, integrating emerging technologies to enhance program delivery.
- Project Management: You effectively manage project plans, timelines, and resources to ensure successful program execution of our International Recruitment Office (IRO).
