Sr Sox Compliance Analyst

***This is a remote based role working East Coast hours***

Job Summary

The Sr Sox Compliance Analyst ensures adherence to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) by evaluating and documenting internal controls over financial reporting. This role involves collaborating with various departments to assess risk, design and test controls, and identify areas for improvement. The analyst will also provide guidance on SOX compliance, support remediation efforts for control deficiencies, and participate in special projects to enhance the internal control environment.

What you will contribute:
  • In collaboration with business process owners, primarily in Finance, ensure proper documentation of all policies and procedures applicable to the key controls of significant business cycles processes
  • Promoting an awareness of the importance of effective internal controls over financial reporting throughout the organization
  • Develop key relationships with finance, IT, and operations process owners to ensure proper SOX documentation and compliance
  • Execution of periodic process-level risk assessments
  • Considering the appropriateness of design of internal controls to mitigate risk of material misstatements in the financials
  • Coaching business management in the development of remediation plans for any identified control deficiencies
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, share best practices and develop programs to strengthen internal control and compliance environment
  • Providing SOX advisory services with respect to development of new processes and implementation of new applications or systems functionality
  • Participating in special projects as requested by management to advise on SOX compliance and financial reporting related matters
  • Coordinate access rights across critical applications to esure compliant and efficient operations

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in internal audit, with specific experience in SOX compliance
  • Experience in financial reporting and risk assessment
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, GAAS, and the COSO internal control framework
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation abilities
  • Strong analytical skills
