Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst

Job Summary

The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst responsible for delivering advanced analytics, insights, and recommendations that improve Revenue Cycle performance, financial outcomes, and operational effectiveness. This position serves as a subject matter expert in Revenue Cycle analytics, combining deep understanding of Revenue Cycle workflows with advanced analytical and data skills to identify opportunities, investigate performance issues, and support data-driven decision-making. The role requires strong business acumen, Revenue Cycle knowledge, and analytical expertise to bridge operational workflows, financial performance, and enterprise data assets.

This individual partners closely with Revenue Cycle leaders, Revenue Integrity, Reimbursement, Patient Access, Finance, Data Management, Data Engineering, and other stakeholders to translate business challenges into analytical solutions. The Senior Revenue Cycle Analytics Lead is expected to investigate complex operational and financial problems, identify root causes, quantify impacts, and develop analytical methodologies that support sustainable performance improvement and organizational goals.

Leads Revenue Cycle analytics initiatives and performance improvement efforts by:
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for Revenue Cycle analytics, operational workflows, reimbursement methodologies, and financial performance drivers.
  • Translating operational and business challenges into analytical requirements, methodologies, and actionable recommendations.
  • Conducting complex analyses to identify opportunities for improving Revenue Cycle performance and financial outcomes.
  • Performing root-cause analyses to identify factors impacting reimbursement, denials, accounts receivable, payer performance, claim resolution, charge capture, authorization, eligibility, revenue integrity, and other Revenue Cycle processes.
  • Quantifying financial and operational impacts associated with identified opportunities, risks, and performance trends.
  • Identifying revenue leakage, payment variance, reimbursement opportunities, and process improvement opportunities through data analysis.
  • Developing analytical methodologies and performance measurement approaches that support consistent evaluation of Revenue Cycle performance.
  • Supporting operational leaders with data-driven recommendations that improve outcomes and achieve organizational objectives.


Supports the development of enterprise Revenue Cycle analytics capabilities by:
  • Partnering with Data Engineering and Data Management teams to define scalable analytical datasets, business definitions, metrics, and methodologies.
  • Assisting with the design, validation, and enhancement of enterprise Revenue Cycle data assets.
  • Promoting consistency and standardization of Revenue Cycle metrics, calculations, and reporting methodologies.
  • Supporting data quality improvement efforts by identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to ensure analytical solutions accurately represent operational workflows and business requirements.
  • Helping establish best practices for Revenue Cycle analytics and performance measurement.
  • Supporting the development of trusted data assets that enable meaningful operational and financial insight.


Provides analytical leadership and stakeholder engagement by:
  • Partnering with Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, Revenue Integrity, Reimbursement, Finance, and operational leaders to understand business priorities and opportunities.
  • Leading analytical discussions that support operational improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Communicating complex analytical findings in a clear and actionable manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Facilitating collaboration between business stakeholders and technical teams to support successful solution development.
  • Providing guidance, mentorship, and subject matter expertise related to Revenue Cycle analytics methodologies and best practices.
  • Supporting cross-functional initiatives and analytical projects that advance organizational goals.
  • Promoting data-driven decision-making through effective interpretation and communication of analytical findings.


Supports continuous improvement and analytical innovation by:
  • Evaluating emerging trends, methodologies, and best practices in Revenue Cycle and healthcare financial analytics.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand the use of analytics to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
  • Developing standardized approaches for analytical investigations, opportunity assessments, and performance measurement.
  • Promoting continuous improvement through evidence-based analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Supporting innovation in Revenue Cycle analytics by leveraging data to identify improvement opportunities and performance drivers.


Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:
  • Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
  • Completes mandatory education, annual competencies, and department-specific education within established timeframes.
  • Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
  • Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year if required.
  • Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey processes, and compliance standards.

  • Available to work overtime and additional schedules when required.


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Eight (8) or more years of progressive experience in Revenue Cycle operations, Revenue Cycle analytics, Revenue Integrity, Reimbursement, healthcare financial analytics, or related healthcare business functions required.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing data and analytics to identify operational improvement opportunities, evaluate financial performance, and support business decision-making required.
  • Advanced SQL experience required.
  • Experience working with Revenue Cycle workflows and business processes, including areas such as claims, denials, accounts receivable, reimbursement, payments, payer performance, authorization, eligibility, charge capture, revenue integrity, or related Revenue Cycle functions required.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting enterprise analytics initiatives, Revenue Cycle transformation efforts, or healthcare performance improvement programs preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools, predictive analytics, statistical analysis, healthcare transaction data, data modeling, or healthcare financial systems preferred.
  • Experience working with electronic remittance (835), electronic claims transactions (837), or comparable healthcare financial data sources preferred.
