Your Role at Baxter
As the Sr Research Scientist you will act as the Product Design Owner (PDO) for Baxter’s Galaxy Products. You will execute strategies to assure product, patient safety and efficacy through application of pre-clinical science and safety assessment. Apply scientific expertise to solve challenging technical problems.
Focus on process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Conducts research or designs strategies to achieve the technical vision for a new or improved product/process/method or to prove a new theory, applying a solid understanding of theories/practices including those from other disciplines outside the primary area of expertise. Provides assistance and interpretation of project results to team members and other business unit personnel. Studies, designs and recommendations reflect impact by and to diverse disciplines.
What you'll be doing:
Act as the R&D point of contact for Galaxy products.
Manage SNCc and own change controls for product design related changes.
Provide technical and strategic input to project teams, ensuring compliance with Baxter and external standards while driving business objectives.
Plan and manage complex projects, prioritizing workloads and meeting major organizational objectives in collaboration with senior management.
Assess technical and scientific information, identify deficiencies, and design innovative solutions to mitigate risks.
Participate in standards organizations and regulatory committees to influence emerging regulations based on sound scientific principles.
Work closely with Clinical, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Manufacturing, and Environmental Health and Safety teams to support various projects and initiatives.
Establish and nurture professional networks both internally and externally, participating in global task forces and committees to exchange technical information.
What you'll bring:
BS with at least 10+years, MS with at least 7-12 years, or PhD with at least 5 years of experience is required.
GMP experience required.
Research lab experience includes research in GMP/QSR environment and cross-functional teamwork
Good understanding of formulation, analytical, process and lifecycle management of IV solution products.
Direct experience working with regulatory bodies such as the US-FDA, EU Notified Bodies, and other national or international reviewers.
Experience in a cGMP and/or R&D environment, with a solid understanding of project management principles.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $152,000 to $209,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
