Job Description:We have an opportunity for a Senior Reliability Engineer to join our Apex, NC team. You will play a critical role in new product development (NPD), driving reliability engineering activities across all phases of the process. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to set reliability targets, develop and execute test plans, and ensure continuous improvement in product performance and reliability.
You will: - Lead reliability engineering tasks throughout all five phases of new product development (NPD), ensuring all deliverables are completed.
- Translate corporate warranty goals into hardware failure rate targets, referencing historical data and adjusting for new complexities or improvements.
- Define mission profiles using all available resources.
- Prepare and execute DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report), engaging with suppliers for qualification data and updating as designs evolve.
- Develop and maintain test procedures as needed.
- Track test failures and issues, ensuring timely resolution and verification before phase gate reviews.
- Build a system-level reliability model to ensure that warranty goals have been met.
- Plan and execute field testing, monitor participant feedback, and conclude with surveys to confirm objectives and gather insights.
- Monitor early field performance, ensuring targets are met before disengagement, and archive all relevant documentation for future reference.
- Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and updating work instructions, incorporating lessons learned, and staying informed about process enhancements.
Key Qualifications: - Proven project management skills for orchestrating complex reliability engineering projects.
- Experience with preparing and executing DFMEAs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Advanced technical aptitude with a deep understanding of product development and reliability processes.
- Familiarity with common reliability and environmental test methods.
- Deep expertise in analyzing life test data in Weibull++ or equivalent and explaining these results to management.
- Effective problem-solving abilities in dynamic testing involving complex interactions and with electromechanical systems and firmware.
- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changing project conditions.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for meticulous record-keeping.
- Leadership qualities to drive process improvements and enhance overall reliability efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Formal training in reliability engineering is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in reliability engineering, product testing, or related fields, with a track record of leading reliability improvement initiatives.
Compensation:For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $95500 - $177300 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
