The
Senior Project Manager belongs to PEO and is responsible for planning and executing large, complex product development / technology development projects through the full project lifecycle from requirements analysis to launch.
All projects will involve leading multi-functional & global core teams with both internal and external team members. Responsibilities include the planning of all program subsystem and project deliverables, synchronization, and prioritization of Core Team activities. Scope includes driving the team in the development of a business case, management of the overall program schedule, resource requirements, risk assessment and project investment analysis and budget. The senior project manager is responsible for directly and indirectly driving project execution and all development efforts (internal and external) while ensuring that all project deliverables and efforts are connected and meet internal and external customer requirements and objectives.
Job DutiesResponsibilities of Senior Project Manager include:
- Project planning:
- Project charter: Creates charter development, sets objectives, plans and schedules project timeline
- Budget management: Develops and manages project budgets, including resource loading, external expenses, and capital requirements.
- Project execution management:
- Ensures requirements: Ensures project activities meet customer requirements and follows Olympus R&D Product Development Process (PDP).
- Prioritization: Continuous prioritization of team member activities and follow-up on actions
- Risk management and escalation: Proactively identify and assess areas of risk, escalate issues in a timely manner and proactively propose solutions
- Intervention: Implements and manages project changes to achieve timely project outputs.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Partners with functional leadership (within and outside R&D): ensure appropriate project resource planning, execution, visibility, and tracking as per program dynamics.
- Project status reporting: Provide regular project updates (written and verbal) to appropriate management board; depending on type of project.
Job QualificationsRequired:- Advanced degree preferably in Bio Medical Engineering, Med Tech, Business.
- 6+ years of cross-functional project experience, with a demonstrated track record of bringing products from concept to market release.
- 5+ years of experience in a regulated industry preferably Medical Device or Med Tech R&D/engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile development
- Experience with applicable FDA/PMDA guidance, ISO 13485 regulations, and industry standards
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively deliver engaging and impactful training sessions
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Scrum certification - Scrum Master or Product Owner
- Demonstrated experience in a medium to large Agile projects
- Competency in Jira, Azure DevOps, Jama Software
- Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies, tools, and techniques, including, but not limited to:
- Project and Portfolio management tools
- Strategic Business Planning
- Resource management
- Working within and leading the Core Team Model
- Lean and Agile Product Development methodologies
Preferred:- Project Management qualifications desirable e.g., PMP/ Prince II certifications or equivalent.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position in this location is $137,657.00 - $192,722.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
