Job Description

As a Senior Program Controls Specialist here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the financial, scheduling, compliance, and operational control of projects from initial planning through installation, commissioning, and closeout. You will be responsible for maintaining visibility into project budgets, timelines, financial performance, risks, compliance, and overall project execution.

In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Field Service, Installation teams, Finance, subcontractors, customers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with Honeywell standards. You will also provide program controls support to installation and systems implementation activities, helping teams understand project requirements, milestones, financial commitments, and potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC Controls, Fire & Security, or other building systems experience is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have strong project controls and financial experience and understand how projects move through the complete lifecycle from planning and budgeting through installation, implementation, commissioning, customer acceptance, and closeout.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage project budgets, costs, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project performance and identify cost, schedule, and execution risks.
  • Support installation and implementation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track projects from planning and budgeting through installation, commissioning, customer acceptance, and closeout.
  • Partner with Project Management, Finance, Engineering, Field Service, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure project compliance, reporting, and adherence to Honeywell processes and standards.
  • Provide financial, schedule, and performance reporting to leadership.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Project Management, or related field.
  • 6 or more years of experience in program controls, project controls, project management, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with project budgets, financial analysis, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, timelines, and schedule control.
  • Experience supporting projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating cost, schedule, compliance, and execution risks.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Field Service, Installation, contractors, and customers.

WE VALUE
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC Controls, Fire & Security, or building systems experience.
  • Experience supporting installation, implementation, commissioning, or field service projects.
  • SAP experience.
  • Advanced Excel and financial reporting/forecasting skills.
  • Experience with MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling tools.
  • PMP or project controls certification.
  • Experience with change management, scope control, earned value, or cost-to-complete forecasting.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization or global company.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
