  • Strategic Analysis and Organizational Problem-Solving - The role requires driving root cause analysis programs, setting the strategy for investigating quality and equipment non-conformances, and leading supply chain optimization at a regional level. The lead engineer must architect systematic solutions, synthesize complex OEE metrics into business strategies, and establish robust countermeasures for the organization.
  • Influential Communication and Mentorship - The position involves championing initiatives across site, regional, and global functions, designing training curricula for operations teams, and managing strategic vendor partnerships. The lead engineer must mentor junior staff, influence cross-functional leadership, and facilitate high-level knowledge transfer across the production and logistics interface.
  • Strategic Governance and Program Management - The role requires overseeing complex operational portfolios across Production and Logistics, approving bulk storage strategies for 36+ tanks, and setting the roadmap for CAPEX/OPEX project portfolios. The lead engineer must govern timelines, drive organizational compliance, and ensure strategic alignment across all operational areas simultaneously.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations
  • Directs and governs the Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, setting the standard for operational excellence and driving facility-wide improvement strategies.
  • Oversees and validates advanced process engineering designs, ensuring technical rigor in complex heat and mass transfer analyses, material balancing, and equipment performance evaluations while mentoring staff engineers.
  • Drives root cause investigation strategy for critical operational failures, leading cross-functional teams to implement systemic, long-term solutions that mitigate organizational risk.
  • Shapes and champions engineering best practices by leveraging regional and global networks, driving the adoption of innovative technologies and processes that improve competitive advantage.
  • Exhibits executive-level autonomy, managing high-impact engineering portfolios and making critical technical decisions that affect site performance and long-term viability.
  • Applies visionary critical thinking to resolve unprecedented technical challenges, providing the organization with data-driven strategic direction and innovative solutions.
  • Serves as the lead architect for key engineering initiatives, defining project vision, securing resources, and delivering strategic outcomes in collaboration with global Engineering leadership.

Production Focus Areas:
  • Manage bulk storage, production equipment, auxiliary systems, and utilities
  • Track and analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data to identify quality concerns, yield losses, and equipment non-conformances
  • Monitor daily production and quality rates to ensure optimal performance
  • Identify, scope, and execute CAPEX and OPEX improvement projects
  • Provide training and classroom instruction to operations teams
  • Support production scheduling and maintain critical documentation
