Sr Procurement Analyst & Continuous Improvement
Job Summary
The Sr Procurement Analyst is responsible for supporting Corporate Procurement initiatives with the goal to improve operational efficiency, standardize processes, track, measure and report market trend and savings, and understand progress toward the achievement of the corporate business objectives. This includes, but is not limited to identifying, investigating, and resolving process issues, both systemic and acute; working with supply chain, operations, finance and commercial personnel to ensure qualified processes and production requirements are met, provide training, support, and leadership for cross-functional problem-solving activities and methods.
MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidates should have experience with, and must be prepared to excel in the following areas of responsibility:
- Provides support including requirements gathering, competitive bidding, negotiating prices, defining quality & service levels, purchase order creation, contract negotiation, contract compliance, transportation (domestic and international), payment terms and conditions, issue resolution and internal reporting to Corporate Procurement and internal customers for sourcing (RFI, RFQ, RFP), contracting, and transaction execution.
- Analyze spending patterns and gather costs relative to the total cost of ownership for goods and services, including maintenance, operating, payment and administrative costs. Provide recommendation on category sourcing strategies.
- Gather and analyze market data and interpret data and forecast trends with recommendations for cost savings initiatives.
- Analyze procurement processes and policies for gaps and inefficiencies and cost improvement opportunities. Provide recommendation and lead/support implementation of changes.
- Support the continued implementation of Supply Chain Diversity best practices by gathering and analyze Supply Chain Diversity data for accuracy and auditability, the preparation of reporting for all regulatory activities associated with Supply Chain Diversity.
- Sustainable procurement initiatives
- Work independently to perform spend analysis based on current spend and suppliers using several different sources of information/data.
- Lead/participate in developing standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Assist in the annual budgeting process with plant requirements and negotiated pricing for commodities such as safety, maintenance repair spare parts, janitorial etc.
- Measure and track key performance indicators (KPI’s) for procurement
- Support additional categories such as MRO, moulds, services, dunnage/packaging management, raw materials, sustainable supplier development, capital project, continuous improvement projects etc as needed.
EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3+ years of experience
- Ability to travel domestically to manufacturing plants on relatively short notice
- Proficient in MS Suite (Excel, MS Project, Powerpoint and Word)
- Work effectively without close supervision as a team player and in a matrix team environment
- Must be creative with strong analytical skills with Excel (i.e. creating advanced formulas and pivot tables).
- Must be process-oriented with the ability to think both strategically and tactically with strong attention to detail.
- Must have strong organizational skills including prioritizing, time management, and meeting deadlines.
- Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or MS in appliable field
- Proficient with SmartSheets, MS PowerBI
- Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control
