Full Job Description
The Qorvo Process Development R&D team is looking for a process engineer specializing in RIE/plasma etch to support next generation SAW Acoustic Wave device development. The candidate will be responsible for both dielectric and metal etch process development to support enabling technologies for SAW product improvement.
Responsibilities:
• Ownership of Plasma Etch development for SAW research and manufacturing
• Recipe development, defect identification and classification for dielectric and metal etch
• Development of recipes and analysis of data for etching processes, including endpoint characterization and selectivity analysis
• Design of metrology controls and implementation for new technologies to ensure performance and quality of product in high volume manufacturing environment
• Collaboration with SAW integration engineers to meet project needs and implement innovative solutions to technical challenges
• Technical problem solving individually and in a team environment
• Plasma Etch implementation from development into high volume manufacturing executing project goals and managing risk through key milestone
• Implementation of process monitoring, controls and metrics for high volume manufacturing processes
Required Qualifications:
• Masters in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or equivalent
• 3+ years of relevant experience or a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or equivalent
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DoE)
• Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving methods and experience
• Experience with data analysis tools and techniques such as Matlab, Python, Spotfire or similar software packages
• Scripting/programming experience preferred; SQL queries, data analysis scripting
• Must be proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and windows-based software
Preferred Qualifications:
• Direct experience with RIE / Plasma Etch highly desirable
• Experience in semiconductor research or manufacturing desirable
