Northrop Grumman's Employee Communications team seeks a creative employee communicator who is confident in being a strategic advisor, thrives on the challenge of informing and inspiring employees around business priorities and culture, loves to story tell and constantly seeks to improve through disciplined measurement, analysis and adjustment.

This position reports to the Employee Communications manager for Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector, and is located in Roy, UT.

In this job, you'll:
  • Lead the development and execution of the employee communications strategy for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division, ensuring it informs and inspires employees and supports business goals and priorities.
  • Serve as the primary employee communications advisor for SDS division leadership, providing strategic counsel on approach, messaging and timing of internal communications.
  • Provide executive communications support for division leaders by developing and executing executive employee communications plans and drafting talking points, speeches, presentations, video scripts, employee announcements and executive summaries.
  • Own and coordinate SDS division organization announcements, ensuring they are clear, timely and aligned with the sector's organization announcement process and enterprise standards.
  • Align SDS division employee communications with sector and enterprise strategies and initiatives, tailoring content as needed for division employees and leaders.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the division's internal communications tools, including intranet content, organization charts and distribution lists, ensuring they remain accurate, accessible and aligned to governance standards.
  • Provide strategic oversight, advisement and tracking of leader communications across the division, helping ensure consistent, coordinated and effective messaging from division leadership.
  • Plan and execute employee engagements for division leadership and advise on strategies that best support business priorities and engage employees.
  • Lead site-level employee communications for assigned locations, including hard-to-reach sites.
  • Conceptualize, procure and produce a diverse array of inspirational content about our people, technologies, successes and business capabilities, including articles, videos, interviews, Q&As, infographics and photo/caption features.
  • Partner closely with sector employee communications, enterprise Communications and business communicators to coordinate messages, share insights and support integrated storytelling across channels.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis of internal communications performance to division and sector stakeholders, partnering with sector and enterprise employee communications teams to refine tactics, channels and approaches based on data and insights.
  • Provide surge support for special projects and priority initiatives as needed, bringing strategic communications, planning and execution expertise to efforts across the division and sector.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university with ten (10) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications practices or 8 (eight) years of communications experience with Master-level degree from accredited university.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Possess a high level of integrity when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgement, problem solving and organizational skills, and superb attention to detail.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with successful email campaigns and newsletter creation.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Affinity for developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Strong business presence with a history of cultivating trusting relationships with multiple teams and leaders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and composure.
  • Possess a high level of interpersonal skills and a "can-do" attitude.
  • Experience leveraging data to create and execute communications strategies, plans, programs and events.
  • Understanding of Associated Press writing style.
  • Aerospace and Defense experience.


Primary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
