  • Deliver senior-level biomechanical performance support for elite athletes within assigned Olympic and/or Paralympic sports across USOPC training centers, NGB environments, national team camps, and major international competitions.
  • Design and implement biomechanical assessment, movement analysis, and monitoring strategies that inform athlete preparation, technical development, movement efficiency, and competitive readiness.
  • Provide biomechanical expertise to athletes, coaches, and performance staff to enable technical skill development, training design, return-to-performance progression, and competition preparation.
  • Conduct laboratory, field-based, and training environment biomechanical assessments using appropriate technologies, sport-specific analysis methods, and diagnostics.
  • Translate performance data, applied sport science research, and biomechanical principles into practical recommendations that improve performance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with coaches, strength and conditioning, physiology, sports medicine, performance technology, and other interdisciplinary performance staff to integrate biomechanical insights into athlete support plans.
  • Provide biomechanical expertise during training camps, competition preparation periods, and major events, including World Championships, Olympic Games, and Paralympic Games.

Performance Insights
  • Conduct athlete biomechanical profiling through movement analysis, performance diagnostics, technical observation, video analysis, force-time analysis, motion capture, wearable technologies, and other relevant assessment methods.
  • Analyze, interpret, and translate biomechanical information into practical recommendations to inform athlete performance planning, technical development, physical preparation, and day-to-day decision-making.
  • Ensure the validity, accuracy, reliability, and practical relevance of biomechanical testing protocols, analysis methods, and reporting processes.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of sport-specific biomechanical testing methodologies, technical analysis frameworks, and movement profiling approaches.
  • Collaborate with data analytics, performance technology, physiology, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, and other sport science disciplines to strengthen the applied use of biomechanical information within athlete support environments.
  • Identify movement characteristics, technical limitations, asymmetries, coordination strategies, loading patterns, or mechanical factors that may influence performance, robustness, or return-to-performance progression.

Performance Capability & Environment
  • Contribute to consistent, high-quality biomechanics service delivery across assigned sport environments through collaboration, operational reliability, and professionalism.
  • Build strong working relationships with athletes, coaches, NGB staff, and interdisciplinary performance staff to enhance the quality, relevance, and consistency of biomechanical support.
  • Contribute to Games readiness planning, service development initiatives, major competition support, and continuous improvement efforts that enhance the effectiveness of biomechanical support.
  • Share applied biomechanical knowledge, technical insight, and practical resources within the Applied Science team to support integrated practice. Mentor interns, fellows, and developing practitioners as needed.
  • Create alignment between biomechanics, performance technology, data analytics, and other applied science services to ensure tools and outputs are useful, timely, and connected to athlete performance questions.
