The Opportunity
Position Summary:
The Sr. Nursing Practice Lead - Long Term Care (NPL - LTC) promotes excellence in nursing with advanced knowledge within clinical care, systems leadership, advancement of nursing practice, evaluation, and research.
The NPL - LTC will work with teams to lead clinical guideline and protocol development and implementation, identifying opportunities to increase LTC nursing practice based on best evidence. They will lead clinical team consultation while collaborating with appropriate stakeholders both internal and external to Carewest on system change, following through with planning,
implementation, and evaluation of initiatives.
Program summary:
This role will focus on the Carewest long term care sites in the Calgary Zone.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse education program.
Preferred:
• Completion of Master's in Nursing.
Required:
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Preferred:
• PROSCI Change Management certificate. Change management modules.
• Alberta Health Services Improvement Way (AIW) Green Belt certification.
• Canadian Gerontological Nursing certificate (GPNC(C)).
Experience:
Required:
• Minimum 3 years of full-time clinical experience in the last 5 years in continuing care, focusing on long term care.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and build collaborative relationships with staff, physicians, patients and families, leaders,
learners and external partners and facilitate group processes.
• Knowledge of wide range of research design methodologies.
• Knowledge of program evaluate on approaches and outcomes measurements.
• Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize complex problems and seek solutions.
• Connect Care proficiency.
Preferred:
• Project management and change management knowledge and experience an asset.
• Demonstrated ability in planning, implementing and leading change from an evidence-based perspective.
• Previous CCHSS auditor experience.
• Previous LTC educator experience.
