The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards exist to ensure the reliability and security of the bulk electric system. As a member of the NERC Compliance Group, you will perform governance and oversight of PSEG's compliance with the NERC Reliability Standards.
This position resides within the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) team of the NERC Compliance Group and reports to the Sr. Manager, NERC Compliance.
Please note that this position will report to the Newark General Office, and there is an in-person requirement of at least eight days per month.
Job Responsibilities- Provide guidance and oversight to lines of business responsible for compliance with the NERC Reliability Standards on the interpretation of the Standards.
- Work with lines of business on investigations of potential non-compliances with the NERC Reliability Standards.
- Work with lines of business on drafting self-reports and mitigating activities to be submitted to ReliabilityFirst for reportable NERC potential non-compliances with the NERC Reliability Standards.
- Assist lines of business with preparing for and participating in NERC compliance engagements, including collecting and analyzing evidence and other documentation.
- Support the development of presentations on NERC compliance issues to senior management.
- Support PSEG's advocacy within the industry on the development of NERC Reliability Standards.
- Other relevant tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specific Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Compliance, Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 6 years of equivalent experience such as engineering, auditing, analytics, operations, compliance, or in lieu of a degree, 10 years of equivalent experience such as engineering, auditing, analytics, operations, or compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Planning and organizing skills, including time management and prioritization skills. - Ability to work in both a team environment and as an individual contributor.
- Strong attention to detail, results oriented, and able to work concurrently with multiple deadlines and deliverables.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with PSEG internal stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skill sets.
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge of the NERC Reliability Standards.
Desired: - Credentialed certification of NERC compliance knowledge.
- Utility transmission and distribution experience.
