Full Job Description
JOB TITLE: Technician Meter I

REQUISITION: CUS00J9

DEPARTMENT: Measurement Technology

LOCATION: Wichita, KS

PAY: $42.28

Technicians I and II, Meter "shall possess a two-year college degree in electronics or equivalent and have the ability and aptitudes for training through a two-year program to become a Technician III, Meter. They shall be qualified through knowledge and experience to assist a Technician III or Senior Technician."

This is a highly technical position dealing with all types of meter and communications systems. The successful candidate must possess the following skills:
• Computer-ability to use new software as required utilizing the documentation provided.
• Demonstrated electrical/electronic schematic reading, with component level electronics troubleshooting capability.
• Have a working understanding of TCP/IP, Serial, and DNP
• Knowledge of complex metering
• Advanced math skills
• Personal characteristics suitable for making contact with customers and the public which are necessary in their line of duty
• Travel across Evergy's service territory and some overnight travel
