Job Description

The SeniorMechanical Engineer will be responsible in the design office for Lead engineering and design tasks of the assigned projects based on specific and detailed instructions received from the assigned supervisor as to the required tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a Mechanical Lead or Mechanical Technical Lead on Simple and Combined Cycle Power Generation or other Heavy Industrial and Process projects.
  • Provide strong leadership to drive mechanical technical design and project coordination.
  • Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status, issues, and needs.
  • Prepare and maintain resource plans.
  • Prepare equipment inquiry/RFQ packages.
  • Perform equipment technical bid evaluations and prepare recommendations.
  • Review equipment vendor documents for compliance to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Develop job notes and technical scopes of work.
  • Perform field walk downs to collect information required to complete work.
  • Prepare man-hour estimates for proposals.
  • Attend Client, Vendor, and Internal Team meetings.
  • Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer.
  • May supervise, coordinate, and review work of a small staff of engineers or technicians on assigned work.
  • As a Licensed Professional Engineer, seals and signs all documentation produced by own work. May also seal and sign work done by engineers under direct supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a mechanical or related engineering discipline
  • 10 minimum years of experience in the Power Generation Industry with familiarity of all associated systems of a power generation or industrial processing facility
  • Strong background in heat exchangers, pumps, ASME pressure vessels, and ASME piping codes
  • Experience in the specification of fixed and rotating equipment
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the specification of fixed and rotating equipment
  • Full and ongoing compliance with and adherence to all vaccination requirements, as may be established by the company from time to time or by or for a particular job site.[DH1]


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Mechanical Engineering experience in the Industrial Construction and Power Generation Industries preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
