Role Overview

The Senior Design & Release Engineer will lead the architecture of the frame and cab interface systems. You will be the technical authority for the primary structure, balancing the competing needs of vehicle dynamics and crash safety. This role requires a strategic thinker who can mentor junior engineers while managing high-level program milestones.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end design and release of the primary ladder frame and cab mounting systems using CATIA V5/V6.
  • Define system-level requirements and technical specifications for the chassis platform.
  • Directly interface with CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) teams to iterate on frame stiffness, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), and durability.
  • Drive the sourcing process by evaluating supplier technical capabilities and managing technical reviews (DFMEA/PFMEA).
  • Optimize the chassis for "Skateboard" architecture, ensuring seamless integration of the e-axle and battery modules.
Qualifications

  • 8+ years of automotive experience, specifically in chassis, frames, or body-in-white (BIW).
  • Expert-level mastery of CATIA V6 (3DEXPERIENCE) and PLM systems (Enovia/Teamcenter).
  • Proven track record of taking complex mechanical systems from "blank page" concept through Start of Production (SOP).
  • Deep knowledge of automotive materials (High-Strength Steels, Aluminum) and joining methods (MIG welding, SPR, structural adhesives).
