The Senior Manufacturing Site Director | Juarez, MEX is responsible for leading the Juarez manufacturing site to maintain, innovate and improve upon employee safety, product quality, product delivery, operating cost, inclusion, and engagement. This position leads a team responsible for the manufacturing of molded products used in acute care monitoring. This position partners with leaders from two operating units and several manufacturing functions. This position drives a lean mindset, leading transformation and continuous improvement of business performance through accountability across multiple functional teams in support of the people, culture, and strategy for the manufacturing site, operating units, and manufacturing platform. This position reports to the Global VP, Manufacturing, for the West/Mexico Region.

This position is on-site at the Medtronic Manufacturing Facility in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, 5 days/week.

         

         

The Senior Manufacturing Site Director is responsible for establishing cost objectives, capacity planning, attainment of production schedules, productivity and efficiency improvements, quality and safety objectives and the development and management of annual budgets and financial performance.

This position is based in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico and is an on-site position, though the selected candidate may reside in the greater El Paso / Juarez Mexico area based upon work status. You must currently have work status in Mexico or be eligible upon hire.

Develop, implement, and execute, comprehensive operations strategies that assure success of the organization and accountability for safety, quality, production, cost, and people.

Key Responsibilities as the Senior Manufacturing Site Director are:

  • You will lead a 24/7 cross functional manufacturing operation focused on building and supporting production of molded products for acute care monitoring.

  • Lead a staff of 9 (5 direct reports and 4 matrix staff leaders) and a workforce of approximately 1800 employees.

  • Plan and administer budgets, including making budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.

  • Employ lean concepts and techniques, working closely with production leadership and Operational Excellence (OpEx) to allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.

  • Implement quality improvement, cost reduction, waste reduction, and productivity improvement programs to ensure attainment of key performance metrics and sustainable performance improvements.

  • Participate in company-wide initiatives to determine One Best Way practices and subsequent local implementation to improve business processes.

  • Represent Medtronic in the community and in professional organizations at a local or regional level.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant manufacturing management experience with 10+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 13 years of relevant manufacturing management experience with 10 years of managerial experience.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) – fluency in both languages required (spoken and written).

Nice to Have

  • Degree in Engineering or Technical Sciences.

  • Medical Device Manufacturing experience.

  • Breadth of background across numerous roles/functions within Manufacturing and Supply Chain with demonstrated success in each area.

  • DMAIC Lean / Six Sigma Certification.

  • Plant manager experience in a large manufacturing facility

  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing systems

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully execute a strategy

  • Proven track record of building organizational capability and talent

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in a matrix organization

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of employees.

  • Experience in leading large-scale change management.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$214,400.00 - $321,600.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico. Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, etc. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
