Full Job Description
Essential Job Functions

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of sales and account management to sell and promote Crane Trade Services.
  • Assess client needs and compose proposals.
  • Track and manage outstanding proposals.
  • Assign engagements to staff and monitor progress.
  • In coordination with marketing, compose and develop proposal and work product templates, sales collateral, and other literature including case studies and white papers.
  • Perform trade consulting services for clients, such as: tariff classification, Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), ad hoc requests, duty drawback, mock compliance audits, ruling requests, licensing determinations, free trade agreement and special trade program qualifications, etc.
  • Expected billable utilization is 50% for the position.
  • Monitor and manage the utilization, realization and profitability of the staff and organization.
  • Review client work product produced by staff for quality and accuracy.
  • Review and analyze dynamic trade issues that may affect Crane's clients and develop solutions focused on recovering or mitigating duties, and improve trade compliance.
  • Personally coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities through training and quality management activities.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department.
  • Address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies of the Company.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from all departments to accomplish assigned objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Job will require presence at the assigned work location.

  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to manage own profit center and report on revenue generation, profit and loss
  • React actively and proactively to the needs of ever changing client requirements.
  • Excellent client service skills and the ability to articulate complex trade issues and government regulations.
  • Computer skills:
    • Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience required
  • Duty Calc, NetCHB and Integration Point experience preferred


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree/Business or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance or trade consulting.
  • Prior experience managing staff.


Certification and Licenses

  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker required.
  • "Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO)" preferred.
