Job DescriptionTitle: Sr Manager, Supply ChainLocation/Division Specific InformationAs part of the Drug Product Division (DPD), the Greenville, North Carolina site is a multi-purpose pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and packaging campus. The operation specializes in taking both sterile injectable and oral solid dose drug products from development phase through to commercialization.
Discover Impactful Work:The Senior Manager, Supply Chain is responsible for leading end-to-end supply chain operations for a large pharmaceutical manufacturing site, ensuring reliable product supply while optimizing capacity, inventory, and customer service. This role drives integrated planning through Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), oversees demand and supply execution, and partners cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams to deliver operational excellence. The Senior Manager develops long-term supply strategies, leads continuous improvement initiatives, and builds strong customer relationships to ensure products are delivered safely, On Time In Full (OTIF), and in alignment with business objectives.
A Day in the Life- Lead the end-to-end order fulfillment process, translating customer forecasts into executable supply plans that ensure timely product delivery.
- Develop and execute demand, supply, inventory, and capacity strategies that balance customer requirements with manufacturing capabilities.
- Drive the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by facilitating monthly executive planning meetings and translating decisions into operational manufacturing and packaging plans.
- Monitor and optimize manufacturing and packaging schedules to maximize capacity utilization, improve schedule adherence, and ensure operational readiness.
- Identify capacity constraints, supply risks, and bottlenecks; develop proactive mitigation strategies and recommend cost-effective solutions to balance supply and demand.
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve supply challenges, establish service level expectations, and support new product introductions and lifecycle management.
- Lead customer and supplier supply chain integration activities to strengthen collaboration, improve planning visibility, and enhance overall service performance.
- Establish, monitor, and drive key supply chain performance metrics, including On Time In Full (OTIF), inventory, schedule adherence, forecast accuracy, and capacity utilization.
- Ensure planning master data, MRP parameters, and advanced planning systems are accurate, maintained, and optimized to support reliable production planning.
- Optimize inventory levels and planning cycle times through effective MRP management and data-driven planning processes.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance supply chain performance.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Laboratories, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams to align operational priorities and enable successful execution.
- Conduct supply chain risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and ensure business continuity while meeting customer service commitments.
- Build organizational capability by developing team members, implementing training programs, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the Supply Chain organization in customer meetings, cross-functional leadership forums, and strategic business initiatives.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and consistent delivery of products safely, On Time In Full (OTIF), while supporting site and business growth objectives.
Keys to Success: Education- Bachelors required, preferably in Science, Finance or Business.
- MBA preferred.
Experience- 6 + years of leadership experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Logistics, Industrial technology, or related field.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical or Chemical industries preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities- APICS (CIPM and/or CSCP) certification or equivalent preferred
- Understanding and training on/of SAP ERP systems (particularly Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Demand Planning, Inventory Management, Production Scheduling modules)
- Understanding of advanced planning solutions APO or OM Partners.
Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentPosition requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
