About the Role

McKesson's Provider Solutions business is transforming how independent specialty and oncology practices operate, grow, and adopt innovation. We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Strategic Operations & Innovation to lead execution across a portfolio of strategic initiatives, operational transformation efforts, and innovation programs.

This role serves as the operational leader for complex, cross-functional programs, translating strategy into measurable outcomes. You will drive portfolio governance, delivery planning, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and organizational readiness while partnering across business, technology, data, finance, and operations teams.

What You'll Do
  • Lead execution of a portfolio of strategic initiatives, ensuring priorities, timelines, resources, and dependencies are aligned to business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, risks, issues, and key decisions across multiple workstreams.
  • Drive program governance, operating reviews, executive updates, and decision-making processes.
  • Partner with business leaders, product teams, technology teams, and external vendors to coordinate delivery and resolve obstacles.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies and ensure accountability for achieving program milestones.
  • Develop executive-level presentations, business reviews, and portfolio reporting for senior leadership.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks while escalating critical issues and recommendations as needed.
  • Support innovation and commercialization initiatives, helping new solutions transition into sustainable operating models.
  • Lead change management and stakeholder engagement activities to promote adoption and organizational readiness.
  • Establish operating rhythms, performance tracking, and governance processes that improve execution and business outcomes.


Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 7+ years of experience in strategic operations, program management, business transformation, management consulting, operational excellence, innovation, or related fields.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional programs involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Experience creating and managing program roadmaps, project plans, dependency tracking, and executive reporting.
  • Demonstrated success driving initiatives from strategy through implementation and operational adoption.
  • Experience presenting recommendations, progress updates, and business insights to senior leaders.


Preferred Skills/Experience
  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience within healthcare, specialty care, pharmaceutical distribution, or highly matrixed enterprise organizations.
  • Experience supporting innovation, incubation, commercialization, or new business initiatives.
  • Knowledge of portfolio management, organizational change management, and operational transformation methodologies.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, statement-of-work (SOW) engagements, and delivery governance.
  • Proficiency with project and portfolio management tools, reporting platforms, and AI-enabled productivity solutions.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, and executive influence skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments with changing priorities.


Travel / Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • General office environment with the ability to work using standard office technology and equipment.


This position offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement based on recent updates to our in-office/work-from-home model. If located in DFW area, the selected candidate may be expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated according to team needs and business priorities.
