Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Sales Operations plays a pivotal role in driving commercial performance and scalability within Insulet’s Global Commercial Operations team. This highly visible, hands-on leader will manage a small team while partnering cross-functionally across sales, marketing, market access, and customer care to translate strategy into actionable KPIs, insights, and incentive programs. The role is ideal for a data-driven operator who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment—someone who can connect complex business processes, leverage analytics and Salesforce tools, and deliver clear recommendations that influence decision-making and accelerate business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to shape sales operations infrastructure and directly impact the continued growth of a high-performing commercial organization.

The Senior Manager, Sales Operations is a critical member of the Global Commercial Operations team and reports to the Sr Director, Global Sales Operations.  Working in a dynamic, collaborative, and cross functional team environment, the successful candidate will lead a team of two analysts to support our sales operations function in North America.  

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to comprehend complex business process and context, a desire to drive excellence and execution, while also having the technical skills needed to develop and report-out insights at all levels of the organization.  This is a hands-on role playing a key position in driving the continued growth of Insulet. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Understands company strategy, market opportunities, and corporate strategic imperatives.

  • Development of key performance indicators (KPIs) that drives a linkage of corporate strategy to commercial objectives through KPIs and related insights.

  • Develop, implement, and execute incentive compensation plan aligned to achieve corporate strategy and manage the partnership with our third-party vendor, IQVIA

  • Builds and maintains strong rapport with commercial business partners in sales, marketing, market access, and customer care to develop KPIs in support of their respective initiatives to ensure ongoing operational needs are met.

  • Drives continuous improvement, automation, and self-service of insights consumption for the commercial team with tools (e.g salesforce.com), reporting and training.

  • Conducts analysis and makes recommendations for commercial initiatives to drive growth and achievement of commercial strategy and objectives.

  • Proactively “connects the dots” across commercial teams & IT to drive alignment of strategy and tactics as well as inform prioritization decisions.

  • Through insights and connectivity with commercial teams, identifies and evaluates fundamental underlying commercial challenges, providing recommendations for actions needed to improve and/or mitigate risk.

  • Develop proper documentation of all processes

  • Performs other duties as required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to analyze business processes, design process improvements, and train business users on the new processes

  • Outstanding data management/analysis capabilities required

  • Self-sufficient, flexible, and motivated team player capable of managing several activities simultaneously

  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive focused, dynamic environment, consistently producing deliverables within agreed upon timelines

  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills are critical

  • Experience supporting or working with a commercial organization, preferably in the pharmaceutical, or medical device industry.

  • Positive, results driven, rational, logical, team player

  • Experience driving commercial/sales process improvement.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate KPIs, insights and related recommendations.

  • Experience working with salesforce.com, and other analytical tools.  Advanced microsoft excel (including VBA), and salesforce.com dashboard and reporting skills preferred.

  • Knowledge of salesforce.com concepts including standard object features, console configuration, workflows, validation rules, Process Builder, Visual Flow, reporting, security settings, role hierarchy, Salesforce Lightning preferred.

  • Ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies

  • Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth, performance and deadline driven environment

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred field of study: Business Administration, Finance, etc)

  • 10+ years related experience that includes business analysis/reporting and incentive compensation management 

  • 5+ years people management experience

  • Strong preference for experience with medical technology or healthcare industry

Physical Requirements (if applicable):     

  • Some travel requirements as needed

Additional Information:

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $143,000.00 - $214,475.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
