What we do

The Project Execution team plays a critical role in bringing Symbotic's automation solutions to life. We oversee projects from planning to system acceptance, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as the central connection point between technical teams, stakeholders, and customers, we create clarity, drive accountability, and ensure each project delivers measurable value to our clients and to the business.

What you'll do

  • Own the retrofit portfolio end to end, including prioritization, resourcing, and schedule and cost reporting across all concurrent projects.

  • Lead, develop, and manage the performance of Site Project Managers and Field Technicians.

  • Serve as the customer relationship owner for project execution and the primary escalation point for site issues.

  • Hold sole cost-control authority for the retrofit portfolio, including setting and managing project budgets, applying stage-gate discipline appropriate for retrofit work, and enforcing standard financial controls.

  • Partner with Account Management and Sales before contract execution to develop the project schedule, review scope, and confirm delivery and timeline feasibility before terms are finalized.

  • Establish and continuously improve retrofit delivery playbooks, safety practices, and controls for work performed in live operating environments.

  • Define the separation from, and required coordination with, the regional execution teams responsible for major projects.

What you need

  • Minimum of 8 years of project or program management experience, including delivery within operating industrial, distribution, manufacturing, automation, or similarly complex technical environments.

  • Minimum of 3 years of people leadership experience with responsibility for developing and managing direct reports.

  • Demonstrated ownership of project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and cost performance across complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

  • Experience managing a portfolio of concurrent projects and balancing resources, priorities, risks, and customer commitments.

  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to direct field activities, assess technical risks, and support informed site-level decisions.

  • Experience managing executive-level customer relationships, project escalations, and change control within live operating environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish or scale a new team, function, operating model, or standardized project delivery process.

  • Experience applying stage-gate governance, project controls, and structured risk-management practices.

  • Proficiency with project and enterprise systems such as Smartsheet, SAP, or comparable tools.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.

  • PMP, PgMP, or an equivalent project management credential is preferred.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to customer sites.

Our Environment
