Job DescriptionYour RoleThe Partner Services Vendor Management team leads vendor contracting and oversight for a portfolio of Healthcare Quality and Affordability programs. The Sr. Manager, Program and Project Management (Vendor Management) will report to the Director of Vendor Management, Partner Services. In this role you will manage a team of program managers focused on vendor contracting and oversight. In addition to leading the team, you will have oversight responsibilities for one or more vendors. You will also support the Director of Vendor management in key projects, including the establishment of best-in-class vendor management and contracting processes.
ResponsibilitiesYour WorkIn this role, you will:
- Lead, direct, and review the work of a team of program managers and perform all team performance management activities in accordance with organization guidelines
- Establish, monitor, and report on KPI's with measurable contribution towards the achievement of Partner Services performance goals
- Provide measurable input to new vendor management and contracting processes or standards
- Exert decision making authority including ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Manage team budget and financial reconciliation activities
- Represent the team on regulatory and compliance audits
QualificationsYour Knowledge and Experience- Requires a Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Requires 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires 4 years of prior people management experience with direct responsibility for supervising, coaching, and evaluating direct reports
- Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics within a high-paced cross-functional environment
- Advanced knowledge and skills including technical or functional expertise, business acumen, financial analysis skills, risk management, delegation skills, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Advanced knowledge in risk management, vendor management, and contracting
- Knowledge of Blue Shield of California's mission, vision, strategy, and healthcare environment
- Strong presentation and communications skills
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Medicare and Medi-Cal experience preferred
HybridThis role requires employees to be in-office based on our hybrid workplace model, balancing purposeful in-person collaboration with flexibility. For most teams, this means coming into the office two days each week.
Employees living more than 50 miles from an office location will work with their manager to determine in-office time based on business need.
