Under the direction of the Director of Patient Access, Senior Manager, Patient Access is responsible for the management and daily operation of outbound communications, internal, incoming, and external/outgoing referral processes, to include authorizations and, in some cases, part of the Patient Assistance Center financial processes. By effectively managing patient access staff, the provider provides high-quality services in all pre-service functions. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling, insurance verification, payor authorizations, meeting all referral requirements, pre-registration, and registration for primary and specialty care. Assists the Director with developing and administering departmental policies and procedures that support the efficient operation of patient expectations to increase patient access to care.
Hourly Pay Rate: $34.15 - $50.37QualificationsEducation:- Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform assigned tasks.
Experience:- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible healthcare admitting or patient financial services experience demonstrating a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Requires prior supervisory/management experience.
- Prefer call center or healthcare administration experience.
Specialized Training:- Epic patient access workflows.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Constant contact with patients, commercial payers, and the public.
- Occasional contact with other institutions, hospitals, and companies.
- Ability to understand and master numerous computer applications, while also understanding information technology enough to work with the IT department to ensure the technological needs of the department are being met.
- Knowledge of third-party, managed care, preadmission review requirements, and medical terminology is required.
- Must be knowledgeable of DNV, HIPAA, and FQHC.
- Must know the front-end process of outpatient specialty services.
- Must be able to supervise and coordinate the work of subordinate personnel in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
