POSITION: Senior Manager, Laboratory (Lab)LOCATION: DeLand, FLWORK TYPE: OnsiteSALARY: $97,100 - $148,700/yr (plus annual bonus of $7,500)TYPE: PermanentCATEGORY: HealthcareJOB DESCRIPTION:Senior Manager, Lab OperationsThe Senior Manager, Lab Operations is responsible for leading day-to-day technical and operational functions within the laboratory, ensuring smooth execution of processes, regulatory compliance, and teammate development. This role provides hands-on leadership for laboratory teams and serves as a bridge between frontline operations and senior leadership. The position reports to the Director, Laboratory Operations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Operational Leadership• Oversee assigned laboratory lanes to ensure they meet performance, quality, and financial targets.• Monitor data and key performance metrics to make informed decisions about staffing, resources, and workflow.• Support standardization of processes, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.• Partner with leadership on long-term planning for service line growth and operational improvements.Team Development & Leadership• Lead and engage laboratory supervisors and frontline teams to foster a culture of accountability, belonging, and high performance.• Mentor emerging leaders, focusing on professional growth and succession planning.• Drive cross-shift and cross-department communication to support operational excellence.Regulatory Compliance & Quality• Ensure laboratory testing is performed accurately, documented properly, and compliant with applicable regulatory requirements.• Oversee quality control and quality assurance programs to maintain the highest standards of laboratory services.Customer & Stakeholder Engagement• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring service excellence.• Resolve operational issues and client concerns in a timely, professional manner.Other Duties as Assigned• Support strategic initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences required• Master's degree in business administration or relevant sciences preferredExperience:• Minimum of 5+ years of laboratory leadership experience in a high-volume, high-complexity testing environment with a proven track record of leading teams, driving process improvements, and managing operational performance.• Strong knowledge of laboratory regulatory standards (CAP, CLIA, federal and state)Certifications & Licenses:• Medical Technologist registry (ASCP, NCA, AAB, or equivalent) required• Florida Supervisor license requiredSkills:• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teamsWHAT WE PROVIDE:Our comprehensive benefits package is designed to enhance your health, financial well-being, and future:• Medical, dental, and vision coverage• 401(k) match• Paid time off and PTO cash out• Family resources and EAP counseling sessions• Access to Headspace®• Backup child and elder care• Maternity/paternity leave• Professional development programs and access to on-demand virtual leadership and development courses through our online training platform• Performance-based rewards based on stellar individual and team contributions---SCREENING QUESTIONS:1.
