Full Job Description
North America Demand & Supply Planning Manager serves as the functional leader for demand planning, supply planning, finished goods inventory performance, and third-party product supplier scheduling across the North America region. This role is responsible for meeting customer demand through manufacturing, supplier, and distribution network capabilities while ensuring optimal service levels, inventory performance, and working capital efficiency.

The position leads the end-to-end supply planning process, translating demand signals into executable supply, inventory, and replenishment plans that support business objectives. The role coordinates and optimizes the flow of materials from internal manufacturing facilities and external suppliers through the North American distribution network to meet customer requirements while minimizing supply risk and operational disruptions.

As a key leader within the Supply Chain organization, this leader will drive planning excellence through the development of robust supply planning processes, inventory strategies, capacity planning, and supply network optimization initiatives. This individual will be responsible for establishing planning discipline, improving supply plan attainment, increasing inventory productivity, and enhancing customer delivery performance across the region.

This role will be a key leader in the development and execution of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, owning the Supply Review process and providing supply recommendations that influence key business decisions. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional alignment across Operations, Procurement, Logistics, Product Management, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure supply plans support business growth while effectively managing capacity, inventory investments, and supply constraints.

How You Will Do It

  • Lead North America-based Demand Planning and Supply Planning teams to execute demand forecasting, supply, replenishment, inventory, and supplier scheduling strategies that support customer service, inventory, and financial objectives.


  • Facilitate the North America demand planning process, including statistical forecasting, demand review facilitation, forecast accuracy improvement, and alignment with Commercial, Product Management, and Finance teams.


  • Own the regional supply planning process, including supply balancing, constraint management, capacity planning, inventory deployment, replenishment planning, and supply risk mitigation.


  • Translate demand plans into executable supply plans by aligning manufacturing capacity, supplier capabilities, inventory strategies, and distribution requirements.


  • Lead monthly Supply Review processes within the IBP framework, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, inventory, financial plans, and operational capabilities.


  • Drive short-term execution through active participation in Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE), resolving supply constraints, managing shortages, prioritizing customer requirements, and mitigating business risks.


  • Develop and implement inventory optimization strategies across manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and supplier networks to improve service levels, inventory turns, and working capital performance.


  • Establish and maintain supply planning policies, planning parameters, safety stock methodologies, replenishment strategies, and inventory governance processes.


  • Partner with Procurement and Supplier Management teams to improve supplier reliability, reduce lead-time variability, and strengthen continuity of supply.


  • Lead capacity planning and scenario modeling efforts to evaluate production, sourcing, and inventory alternatives that support growth initiatives and changing market conditions.


  • Develop action plans and lead teams through implementation of Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives (Johnson Controls Business Systems) including inventory flow optimization, pull systems, Kanban methodologies, root cause problem solving, and process standardization.


  • Analyze supply chain performance metrics including inventory turns, days of supply, fill rates, plan attainment, supplier performance, forecast consumption, and customer service levels to drive continuous improvement.


  • Collaborate across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Commercial, Finance, and Product Management organizations to remove constraints and improve end-to-end supply chain performance.


  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving network optimization, inventory strategy, planning system improvements, supply resiliency, and operational transformation.

What We Look For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree required, with majors in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or related field preferred.


  • Eight (8)+ years of professional experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Materials Management, Inventory Planning, and/or Supply Chain Planning within complex manufacturing environments.


  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end planning processes, including forecasting, demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP).


  • Supervisory experience coaching, developing, and leading employees to continuously improve performance and build organizational capability.


  • Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain processes, including Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), S&OE, Forecasting, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, MRP, Inventory Management, Procurement, Materials Management, and Logistics.


  • Proven experience improving forecast accuracy, inventory performance, customer service levels, and working capital metrics through process and system improvements.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience leveraging data to drive business decisions and performance improvements.


  • Experience using planning and ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, APO, Kinaxis, SAS, and Microsoft Office applications.


  • Experience with Lean methodologies and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Hiring Salary Range
$150,000 - $175,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
