Full Job Description
Your Opportunity

Schwab Advisor Services is building an integrated AI and third-party ecosystem organization focused on advancing Schwab-owned AI capabilities, enabling advisor choice through third-party partnerships and integrations, strengthening our data-enabled capabilities, and helping RIAs improve productivity, client service, and growth.

The Senior Manager, AI Portfolio and Program Strategy will translate strategic priorities into coordinated, measurable execution across Advisor Services and within the AI and Third-Party Ecosystem organization. This role will work across product, platform, technology, strategy, governance, data, marketing, portfolio management, and third-party ecosystem teams to ensure initiatives are well-defined, strategically aligned, portfolio-ready, and supported by clear outcomes, dependencies, and execution plans.

The role does not replace product or platform ownership and does not directly manage engineering delivery. It provides the strategic program leadership, portfolio discipline, cross-functional orchestration, and executive insight required to advance complex initiatives involving multiple accountable teams.

Key outcomes and responsibilities

Strategic Portfolio Leadership

  • Translate AI and ecosystem strategy into prioritized initiatives, measurable outcomes, investment recommendations, and execution plans.
  • Maintain visibility into portfolio health, resource requirements, risks, dependencies, and strategic alignment.
  • Provide executive leaders with insights and recommendations that support prioritization and investment decisions.

Enterprise Program Leadership

  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning product, technology, data, operations, governance, marketing, and business stakeholders.
  • Establish structure, accountability, milestones, and decision pathways while proactively managing dependencies and execution risks.
  • Support launch readiness, adoption planning, and post-launch outcome evaluation.

Ecosystem & AI Enablement

  • Evaluate and advance AI, fintech, and third-party ecosystem opportunities that strengthen advisor experiences and business outcomes.
  • Coordinate planning across Schwab AI capabilities, external integrations, data assets, APIs, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify capability gaps, partnership opportunities, and investment considerations for leadership review.

Performance & Value Realization

  • Establish and monitor outcome-oriented measures that connect investments to advisor, operational, ecosystem, and business value.
  • Develop performance insights that inform portfolio decisions and ensure continued alignment with strategic objectives.

Operating Model & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Improve portfolio governance, intake, prioritization, reporting, and decision-management practices.
  • Develop executive communications, planning materials, and organizational updates that create alignment and transparency across stakeholders.
  • Foster knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and adoption of scalable program-management practices.
What you have

Required capabilities

  • Significant experience leading complex, cross-functional programs within financial services, technology, digital products, strategy, or portfolio management.
  • Proven success translating strategic direction into prioritized execution plans and evaluating business cases, resource needs, competing priorities, adoption, and measurable outcomes to inform leadership decisions and investment prioritization.
  • Advanced program leadership skills, including scope and milestone planning, dependency and risk management, and the ability to influence accountable stakeholders across product, technology, data, operations, governance, marketing, and executive leadership while respecting established decision rights within a federated ownership model.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a track record of constructively challenging incomplete assumptions, synthesizing conflicting inputs, exercising sound judgment, and creating structure and momentum in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments.
  • Exceptional executive communication, storytelling, and presentation-development skills, including the ability to tailor communications across strategic, technical, operational, and executive audiences.
  • Working knowledge of digital product development and technology delivery models.
  • Demonstrated success designing or improving operating processes, governance models, or portfolio-management practices.

Preferred capabilities

  • Knowledge of the RIA, custody, wealth-management, or advisor-technology ecosystem, including advisor workflows, firm operating models, and common technology categories.
  • Background evaluating or implementing third-party fintech or technology partnerships, including consideration of compliance, privacy, legal, cybersecurity, procurement, model risk, and third-party risk requirements.
  • Working knowledge of generative AI, agentic experiences, enterprise AI tools, APIs, MCP, data-access patterns, or AI governance.
  • Success coordinating go-to-market activities, product launches, or partner-enabled offerings.
  • Background in product strategy, management consulting, business strategy, or strategic operations, with exposure to enterprise portfolio planning, investment prioritization, and senior leadership governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships across organizational boundaries, align diverse stakeholders, and advance enterprise priorities through influence rather than direct authority.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
