Position Overview

The Novelis Terre Haute, Indiana, team is seeking a dynamic and experiencedSr. Maintenance Leaderfor its container and foil rolling and finishing facility. Reporting to the EMRA Leader, this position provides education, training, leadership, and direction to the facilitys electrical and mechanical maintenance workforce.

TheSr. Maintenance Leaderdirects maintenance resources to optimize the reliability of the plants pneumatic, hydraulic, coolant, roll, bearing, cylinder, crane, and structural systems. This role assesses preventive and predictive maintenance needs, recommends effective strategies, and allocates personnel to improve equipment reliability and plant performance. The position also coordinates maintenance support for advanced troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems while actively reinforcing the plants safety processes.

Responsibilities
  • Use facility, corporate, and third-party resources to strengthen personal and workforce capabilities that drive continuous process improvement and optimization.
  • Support machine centers by optimizing workforce scheduling and maintenance effectiveness in alignment with plant strategic plans.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for machine-center improvement activities, ensuring initiatives are completed on time, within budget, and sustained over the long term.
  • Collaborate regularly with operators, mechanics, electricians, planners, process leaders, shift specialists, and engineers to maintain and improve the effectiveness of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure reliability principles are incorporated into all projects, equipment changes, and process-optimization activities.
  • Partner with the reliability organization to coordinate and conduct Root Cause Failure Analyses for significant machine-center failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Engage the maintenance organization in new projects and asset modifications to ensure appropriate training, communication, technical documentation, and preventive and predictive maintenance requirements are developed before implementation.
  • Evaluate and recommend process improvements and emerging technologies that strengthen Novelis competitive position through improved product quality, shorter lead times, lower costs, reduced environmental impact and energy consumption, and enhanced employee safety and health.
  • Actively support the annual and five-year capital plans and complete assigned projects in alignment with the plants annual and strategic objectives to promote long-term business sustainability.
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance employees to strengthen technical capability, accountability, and performance.
  • Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited university or institution.
  • 5 years of heavy industrial work experience and/or maintenance leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to collaborate with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize responsibility; able to balance multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail; flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Project
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), preferably SAP
  • Project management experience, budget management, scheduling, coordinating contractors, and execution

Novelis Terre Haute facility is located in the center of the Wabash Valley about an hour drive from Indianapolis. The region is named for the nearby Wabash River.
