JOB SUMMARYProvides technical support to the quality and quality engineering (QE) functions | Conducts nondestructive examination (NDE) and quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards | Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards | Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Four (4) or more years Oil & Gas or related experience (Required)
- Three (3) years experience as an API unit or piping inspector in a refinery or petrochemical facility.
- Six (6) or more years pressure equipment inspection, nondestructive examination (NDE) and/or welding (Required)
- Required Certifications/Licensures: (Current American Petroleum Institute (API) 510 certification and API 570 and be willing to obtain both API 580 and API 571 within two years )

- Physical ability to work on and around industrial equipment, including climbing of stairs, ladders and in confined spaces , Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, hearing protection, respirator)
- Performs inspections, non-destructive testing and fitness-for-service evaluation on refinery equipment (such as but not limited to tanks, heaters, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, piping) to ensure mechanical integrity, safety and reliability
- Ensures construction and repairs comply with codes, standards and industry practices
- Analyzes inspection findings and prepares reports
- Generates repair/upgrade/modification recommendations based on inspection findings
- Collaborates with Engineering and Maintenance to establish inspection intervals per applicable industry codes, standards and recommended practices
- Prepares inspection plan and work list
- Collaborates with Maintenance to develop and implement risk-based routine and preventive maintenance procedures
- Maintains inspection databases
- Ensures documentation is current, accurate and compliant
- Mentors and trains junior inspection team members
