Full Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Uses project leadership skills to manage web page production process. Defines, plans, coordinates and implements project plans for Institutional client web projects. This includes working with the client teams to determine the scope and requirements for the project as it relates to expediting new content within Teamsite. Attends project Scrum meetings as needed.

2.  Utilizes technical knowledge (including navigation, design, web infrastructure and platforms, web browser technology, html, JavaScript, CSS, and XML) to maintain technically achievable and efficient web solutions. Will need to have extensive technical knowledge with using Teamsite applications, trouble shooting issues as they arise with content elevations and reconciliations.

3.  Communicates to the development teams and partners with IT throughout the development and test process to resolve issues. Uses sound logic and technical ability to resolve issues with client web content. This includes working with the client teams to determine the scope and requirements for the project as it relates to ongoing development and maintenance.

4.  Produces high quality, high value online materials by improving quality, appearance, and functionality of online materials, complying with Vanguard website standards, and ensuring that the final project meets the project objectives while managing content and overall web site integration as it relates to responsive site development.

5.  Tests UI design and functionality in SAT region before elevating to PROD and serves as an informal functional tester for all content worked on. Audits Vanguard web pages to ensure functionality, look and feel meets Vanguard's IIG design standards.

6.  Stays current with new and emerging technologies and techniques, including web page development tools and web design principles. Also stays abreast of Vanguard and industry related news.

7.  Thoroughly understands and complies with IT policies and procedures, especially those for quality and productivity standards that enable the team to meet established client service levels. Thoroughly understands and complies with Information Security policies and procedures.

8.  Documents all projects and assignments and provides accurate and timely updates to management team and/or client team. Follows up on assigned tasks of project to ensure adherence to deadlines. Maintains an accurate job history and ensures detailed and complete project documentation is archived in local shared drive.

9.  Maintains strong client relationships by responding to all client requests promptly, identifying and resolving problems, identifying ways to better serve the client, regularly communicating project status, and facilitating and participating in the project development process. Serves as a technical advisor on client projects and trouble shoots issues as they arise.

10.  Performs a page-by-page certification when projects elevate into production as needed to support post elevations.

11.  Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in the field of Web Design or Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of three years user experience design required. Web experience, required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including interviewing and presentation skills.
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of the following technologies and/or products;
  • Dreamweaver
  • HTML
  • XML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Knowledge of the following UI design practices and concepts preferred or fast learner;
  • User Centered Design, Logical information organization and navigation
  • Business and user workflows
  • prototyping as needed
  • Knowledge of the following information technology principles:
  • File Infrastructure for vanguard.com and vanguard-education.com
  • Web Server Infrastructure
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more IT platforms preferred
  • Microsoft Windows XP
