Senior Health & Safety Specialist

At Philip Morris International (PMI), we're seeking a Senior Health & Safety Specialist to help establish and maintain a safe, compliant, and sustainable manufacturing environment at our Aurora, Colorado facility.

In this strategic leadership role, you will lead the site's Health & Safety strategy, ensuring alignment with PMI standards and all applicable regulatory requirements. You will partner with site leadership to integrate health, safety, and sustainability into business operations, performance management, and long-term planning while serving as the site's senior technical expert on occupational health, safety, environmental compliance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and continuously improve Health & Safety management systems, policies, and programs aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action programs to reduce health, safety, and environmental risks.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable requirements.
  • Oversee Health & Safety training programs, mentor team members, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Manage EHS performance reporting, analyze trends, present insights to leadership, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Collaborate with engineering, facilities, and operations teams to integrate safety and compliance into equipment, infrastructure, and capital projects.
  • Lead emergency preparedness, business continuity planning, contractor compliance, and sustainability initiatives focused on reducing waste, emissions, and energy consumption.
  • Support budgeting and resource planning for safety improvements, technology investments, and compliance initiatives.

Salary Range: $88,000 - $110,000 annually
