Full Job Description
Do you...
  • Get energized by finding new ways to acquire customers, testing ideas quickly and doubling down when something works?
  • Like to identify creative solutions, prove they work, then find the smartest way to scale them?
  • Enjoy building out full-channel customer acquisition strategies, getting hands on when it matters and bringing in agencies and partners to accelerate when needed?
  • Make your marketing budget earn its next raise through proven ROI?

If you're nodding along, we need you to join our team as our Senior Growth Marketing Manager.

Figuring out why website visitors aren't buying shouldn't feel like a guessing game. Lucky Orange shows you exactly how real people interact with your site, turning guesswork into quick 'A-ha!' moments so you can fix friction and close more sales.

Now we're looking for someone who can bring that same curiosity to how Lucky Orange grows.

As our Senior Growth Marketing Manager, you'll own the engine that turns attention into new customers. This isn't a role where you simply manage a stack of agencies and dashboards. We want someone curious and resourceful who's willing to jump into a channel, learn it and form a real point of view before deciding what to do next. Sometimes that means executing it yourself. Sometimes it means bringing in an agency or outside partner. Sometimes it means deciding an idea isn't worth pursuing. Your job is figuring out the difference, and knowing where to focus first since you won't have time to go deep everywhere at once.

What's a day in the life like?

Putting customers first is always our priority, but we're known for having a relaxed, playful environment at Lucky Orange. On a typical day, you'll find our team helping customers, devising growth strategies, writing code, testing ideas and working with partners. We're a work family that likes to get to know one another, challenge each other and recognize a job well done.

As our newest Senior Growth Marketing Manager, your day will likely include:
  • Owning our customer acquisition strategy across paid, organic, lifecycle and emerging channels
  • Personally getting into a new channel when it makes sense, to understand how it works before deciding whether to own it internally, outsource it or walk away
  • Devising strategies for our core acquisition touchpoints, including paid advertising, SEO, our website, email marketing and social channels and presenting your approach to leadership
  • Managing a mix of hands-on work and outside agency, freelancer and vendor relationships and holding those partners accountable to clear goals
  • Building and running a growth experimentation roadmap, testing new audiences, messages, offers, landing pages and channels
  • Owning the marketing budget and deciding where dollars are most likely to generate profitable growth and reallocating when performance says there's a better opportunity elsewhere
  • Digging into funnel performance to find where potential customers are getting stuck
  • Reporting on CAC, conversion, payback and return on marketing investment
  • Building forecasts and helping leadership see where additional investment could create real growth

How will success be measured?

Ultimately, this role is about creating efficient and repeatable customer growth. We don't expect every experiment to work. If every experiment works, you're probably not experimenting enough. We expect you to learn fast, make smart bets and steadily improve how efficiently we acquire customers.

Success will be measured through the trend line of:
  • Growth in new MRR and ARR
  • Customer acquisition cost (CAC)
  • CAC payback period
  • Qualified signup growth
  • Visitor to signup conversion
  • Signup to paid conversion
  • LTV to CAC
  • Channel level return on marketing investment

What does it take?
  • 6 to 10 years of professional marketing experience with a strong focus on customer acquisition or growth marketing
  • Experience in SaaS or subscription based businesses with product-led growth acquisition models
  • Demonstrated experience owning paid, organic and lifecycle marketing channels
  • A strong experimentation mindset and a track record of turning ideas into measurable tests
  • Comfort jumping into an unfamiliar channel or tool and figuring it out
  • Experience managing a marketing budget and making investment decisions across competing opportunities
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of CAC, LTV, conversion rates and marketing ROI
  • Experience with SEO, paid media, email marketing and social media fundamentals
  • Experience working with outside agencies and vendors without outsourcing ownership of strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn performance data into clear recommendations for leadership
  • Strong prioritization skills and the judgment to know when something deserves more investment and when it's time to move on
  • Ability to work in our relaxed office setting in Overland Park, Kan. during typical working hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (This role is not eligible for a remote working arrangement)

How do I stand out from the rest of the pack?
  • Have personally launched a new acquisition channel from scratch and scaled it once the economics proved out
  • Can point to experiments that meaningfully improved signup growth or acquisition efficiency
  • Have experience with marketplaces, platform ecosystems, partnerships or other nontraditional acquisition channels
  • Are familiar with marketing automation and CRM platforms such as HubSpot and Salesforce Pardot
  • Are familiar with Lucky Orange or other conversion rate optimization tools
  • We especially like people who can say, "I didn't know how to do it when I started, but I figured it out."
