Full Job Description
The Sr. Global Supply Chain Buyer is responsible for ensuring the availability of critical materials across all manufacturing sites by proactively managing supply chain risks, shortages, and constraints. This role partners cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to maintain production continuity, support customer commitments, and drive rapid resolution of supply-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze enterprise-wide production schedules, demand forecasts, MRP reports, and material requirements to identify potential shortages, supply constraints, and business risks.
  • Lead the identification, prioritization, and resolution of critical material shortages and supply disruptions to protect production schedules, revenue, and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts between procurement, planning, operations, engineering, quality, program management, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Drive supplier performance through proactive communication, capacity reviews, escalation management, and ongoing supplier engagement to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Develop and execute mitigation strategies including supplier expedites, alternate sourcing, inventory optimization, and strategic stocking plans to secure critical materials.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), product launches, and accelerated customer demand by ensuring material readiness and supply chain alignment.
  • Monitor supply chain performance, supplier trends, market conditions, and global risks while communicating key issues, mitigation plans, and recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, materials management, manufacturing operations, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, inventory planning, MRP/ERP systems, and manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing material shortages, supplier escalations, and critical supply constraints in complex manufacturing operations.
  • Proven ability to analyze supply chain data, identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and execute solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills with the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI), customer-driven demand changes, and business-critical production requirements.
